Stuurt de dune limited rgb, of full rgb via de HDMI output ? Kan je het instellen zoals bij de PS3 en de meeste HTPC's ?

Mijn TV is namelijk gecalibreerd zodat IRE0 == rgb(16, 16, 16), dus limited RGB.

Dit geeft op de HTPC de beste kleuren, HTPC staat ook ingesteld om binnen 16..235 te blijven, zodat er geen expansie naar 0..255 gebeurt, wat banding en andere artefacts oplevert.

Wat doet de dune kwa uitsturen ? Ik ben het nog niet tegengekomen als instelling ...

Volgens mij doet de Dune limited RGB. Dus 16-235 waardes. Of hij doet YCrCb ik weet het niet zeker. Kan je niet instellen in de Dune helaas.
RGB full is alleen voor computer materiaal of fout gecodeerd videomateriaal, niet van belang dus voor normaal film/video spul.

Ik heb met de nieuwe update (en dus de minder vaak video reinit sequence) dat ik soms geen beeld heb na het starten van een 24p mkv file. GUI dus op 1080p/60, materiaal een mkv serie (itunes web-dl rip), JVC schakelt naar 1080p/24, maar beeld blijft zwart. Na wat heen en weer schakelen (HDMI switch uit/aan, andere input, output TV/projector) komt het beeld weer terug. Na stop drukken komt de GUI ook wel weer terug.
Zal er nog wat mee spelen, maar ik denk dat ze wat te veel van die video-re-init's eruit hebben gesloopt. Of in ieder geval meer dan mijn Marantz HDMI switch leuk vind. De Dune staat op auto 50/60/24p.

Ik weet van de Marantz dat ie switchen van 1080p60 naar 1080p50 niet leuk vind (dwz je moet hem een beetje helpen, door wat te switchen). Van 1080p50 -> 1080p60 is geen probleem. Ik denk dat dit net zoiets is nu met deze FW van de Dune.

HDI will release a new firmware today but before you get all excited about the speed of another firmware release after last weeks release, know that this release will actually remove something... The "Cinema" feature, newly introduced, will actually be removed and was never intended for release. This future confused people on what it does for the simple reason it is made for a corporate client who specifically needed it. Today's release will thus be exactly the same as last week's release minus the Cinema feature...

HDI is sorry for the mistake and mess and hopes on your understanding.

Hallo,

Ik heb vorig jaar in de zomer een Eva9150 van Netgear gekocht. Ik heb daar ook telkens de beta updates van de firmware op ingedraaid. Ik ben er op zich redelijk tevreden over. Echter ik baal ervan dat er toch al 'n hele tijd geen firmware update is geweest, ondanks de belofte van Netgear dat er wel nog een zou komen. Plus dat de beloofde ondersteuning van Dolby True HD en DTS Master nooit gekomen is.

Ik heb die Eva9150 gebruikt in combinatie met een wndr3700. En ik merk regelmatig dat ik buffer problemen krijg m.n. bij films in combinatie met DTS, omdat de snelheid net niet genoeg is. Dat ondervind ik zowel op 2.4 als op 5 GHz. Die 5Ghz trekt het zelfs helemaal niet omdat ik van de studeerkamer door drie muren moet. Wireless N kan 't in mijn appartement niet aan, helaas. Nu wilde ik hiervoor op 'n powerlline adapter overstappen. Maar ik ben bang dat de 100Mb aansluiting op de Eva die snelheid niet aankan (zeker niet als ik een van de nieuwere varianten pak - ofwel de belkin gigabit versie, of misschien een van die nieuwe netgears, als die uit is, met 500 Mbit). Leggen van gigabit tussen de woonkamer en de studeerkamer gaat overigens niet echt makkelijk. Dus daar zie'k liever vanaf.

Nu zit ik te overwegen een Dune Prime 3.0 aan te schaffen. Eigenlijk wilde ik ook 'n blu-ray speler aanschaffen en met de Dune sla ik wellicht twee vliegen op een klap. Wat zijn jullie ervaringen met 't apparaat v.w.b. 't afspelen van bluray's die op schijf opgeslagen zijn (zijn menu's af te spelen?), hoe goed werkt de gigabit netwerk aansluiting (heb gelezen dat daar in 't begin problemen mee waren), de performance van de blu ray speler (opstarttijden etc.), passthrough van dolby true hd en DTS HD Master, de algehele werking van 't apparaat (bugs), of er nog regelmatig updates langs komen, ondersteunde codecs (WMV met bijbehorende geluidsformaten bijv. wel, itt de eva?), het user interface, de wijze waarop je media bestanden van 't netwerk kunt afspelen (Samba, NFS, anderen?). Wellicht dat er ook mensen zijn die een eva9150 gehad hebben en die de dune met de eva kunnen vergelijken?

Hoe makkelijk is overigens het plaatsen van een harde schijf? Of kun je beter een variant pakken waar de harde schijf al in zit?

Ik heb een losse e-sata unit waar je een 'blote' hdd zo ik kunt zetten. Dune aan en hub je kunt alles afspelen wat op die hdd staat.

Snelheid is niet geweldig vergeleken met de allerlaatste blu ray spelers, maar het is wel te doen.

werkt perfect !

hoe goed werkt de gigabit netwerk aansluiting (heb gelezen dat daar in 't begin problemen mee waren), de performance van de blu ray speler (opstarttijden etc.),

gigabit is geen vereiste voor HD, met een 100mbps poort kom je toe (spreek uit ervaring)
tenzij je de dune als nas wil gaan gebruiken en naar meer dan 1 andere dune/speler tegelijkertijd wil streamen

passthrough van dolby true hd en DTS HD Master

@perenor : Heb je uberhaupt wel wat gelezen in deze thread of was dat te veel werk?

Met een Prime heb je een bluray loopwerk en kan je (met verlies van garantie) zelf een 2.5 inch laptop schijf inbouwen.
Met een Base heb je een mooie Harddisk bay waar sata disken zo in passen zonder frame.
Als je serieus bluray wil spelen zou ik een losse bluray speler erbij kopen. Voordeel van de Prime is dat er een hack is voor de regiocode, dus je kan er ook regio A op spelen. Opstarttijden van een BD via de Prime3.0 zijn niet super snel (http://www.htforum.nl/yabbse/index.php?topic=94825.0)

gbit werkt niet op de Dune. 100 mbit is genoeg voor al het materiaal dat er is, zowel via SMB als via NFS.

Wireless HD materiaal spelen van het netwerk werkt niet probleemloos, zeker niet voor het zware materiaal. Ik heb ook al negatieve ervaringen gelezen van mensen met (effectief) 80mbit power-lan (theoretisch 120mbit).

Ik speel niet veel obscuur materiaal (kwa codecs) maar ik kom weinig tot niets tegen dat door de Dune niet gespeeld kan worden.
Alle geripte schijven speelt de Dune af inclusief menu's. Dat is dan DVD folders, DVD iso files, BDMV folders, BD iso files.

De regelmatige FW updates van HDI zijn meer voor schoonheids foutjes en het mooier maken van de GUI mogelijkheden.
