Wat meer info over de nieuwe Goldmund Telos 5000 eindversterker

After slightly disclosing the specs of a Telos 5000, there was a big demand on this amplifier that our Goldmund companies received from enthusiastic audiophiles.

We are affraid you all will have to report the unavoidable truth : it will be completely extravagant in price too. Nothing close to the Telos 2500, that will remain our unique top amplifier for years to come.

A pair of Telos 5000, handmade in extremely small number (maybe something like 10 pairs total), is planned to cost more than a Ferrari, more than a Reference II and at least 2.5 or 3 times more than a pair of Telos 2500. In addition production will be made unit by unit and individually adapted to the user exact speaker. It will not be "available" on the market but only a very exclusive subscription-based offer. We do not plan to have it in our price list as a standard product, as for the Reference II.

Your customers have to understand we do it as a research tool, like a Formula 1 car, and that the cost cannot be considered as "rational". Creating completely new technology, where fundamental Physiscs is involved, is not sensible economically and we will make a few of them only to share our pleasure of achieving such results. It remains probable that we will loose money in making them, even at such a price.

So please refrain the enthusiasm of audiophiles. Very possibly in a few months or rather years, some of the new development we did for the 5000 will be declined down to "normal" amps, like the Telos 2500 or even 600. So they will get the sonic benefit as soon as we can "domesticate" the monster's most standard organs.

Sorry for the disappointment it may create...

The Goldmund Telos 150 is the last-born child analog power amplifier of the High End amplifier Series, our best value Power Amplifier.

Last but not least, during its July Press Conference in Los Angeles, Goldmund announced the company will bring to the market, probably as early as 2008, some radically new "Acoustic Processors" that will be usable to correct existing Goldmund 2-Channel systems or Home-Theater.

Via de importeur gehoord dat de Eidos 19 combi speler opgevolgd gaat worden door de Eidos 20, deze speler zal meer "mechanical grounding" technieken uit de duurdere serie gebruiken.

De Metis serie (nieuwe instap serie van Goldmund) is onderweg, de processoren van Goldmund (SR-8, Mimesis 30 en Mimesis 24) worden ook vernieuwd. De nieuwe processor uit de "Ultimate" lijn krijgt maar liefst het tienvoudige aan reken capaciteit dan wat er momenteel in de Mimesis 24 zit. Deze extra reken power is nodig om het "Leonardo" correctie programma te kunnen gebruiken

De Mimesis-330 geïntergreerde versterker wordt opgevolgd door de Telos-390

Our latest announcement in the Telos line, the Telos 390, came as a surprise, because it is finally an integrated amp and is aimed at replacing the Mimesis 330.
Both more powerful and much bigger, the Telos 390 benefits essentially from the Telos more accurate amplification stage, and its associated extreme reliability.
To increase its universality of use, we now build-in the Digital input circuit, providing to the Telos 390 with 3 digital inputs (SPDIF) and 5 analogue inputs.
The Telos circuit remains the real sonic killer it has been since its introduction. The Telos 390 does not only sound more open, more alive and more dynamic than the Mimesis 330, it is a big step forward.

Nieuws over de Telos-5000 eindversterker

When the first prototype of the Telos 5000 was assembled last month in Geneva, it appeared that the mechanical construction was too tight to let an easy access for assembling or disassembling it. So the monster structure grew again, by 10 cm in height this time. Weight will finally be over 100kg, something we tried to avoid, but which is necessary to maintain rigidity and a perfect mechanical grounding construction.
In the meantime we are close to be sold out and have already more than 15 pairs ordered for 2008, which is close to the maximum we can produce in a year. The "small baby" has to be assembled one by one due to its size and it takes more than a week to finish one�

De officiële aankondiging van de reeds eerder gemelde Eidos 20 combi speler

To build on obvious sonic superiority, Goldmund is now launching a completely new mid-range model, the latest Goldmund player, the Eidos 20.

The new Eidos 20 is considerably rebuilt for rigidity and inertia. Using the Magnetic Damper like our top models, its chassis and transport mechanism holding structure has been considerably reinforced, making it nearly as heavy as an ultimate model.
The Eidos 20 also includes a new improved AC-Curator circuit, especially spectacular in sound improvement for CD playback.
The best sound will be reached by using the built-in SPDIF RCA digital output, as for all our other units. Video in the Eidos 20D Universal model is HDMI 1.3.

The Eidos 20 is produced in 2 separate models: the Eidos 20A CD/SACD Player and the Eidos 20D Universal Player.
Availability is immediate.

En wat nieuws over de nieuwe arm voor de platenspeler

We just received the first pictures of the T8, still a prototype, but showing better the way it will look on the Reference 2.
The news from the development team is that the T8 mechanics are ready but not the driving software and that the software development is a huge task that may need a few months to be completed.
Among the few new "sexy features" announced recently : the remote control operation during playback of not only the Vertical Tracking angle but also the oil damping of the arm� Something we believe was never achieved before.

Goldmund heeft wat afbeeldingen van de nieuwe "Metis" serie op het internet gezet.
De Metis serie wordt een voor Goldmund begrippen zeer betaalbare lijn die onder de SR-serie komt. De techniek in de Metis preamp is volgens de importeur vrijwel gelijk aan de huidige "universal preamps" van Goldmund, de bestaande modellen worden echter ge-upgrade om het mogelijk te maken alle nieuwe technieken zoals Leonardo toe te passen. Hiervoor is zeer veel processor capaciteit benodigd voor alle berekeningen.

The universal preamp allows up to 10 channels (6 speakers and 4 subwoofers) with any analog or digital sources.

The very thin digital cable provided by Metis can be purchased in any length and does not induce sound degradation.

Goldmund komt ook met een Blue-Ray speler

After the remarkable success received by the first Eidos 20 delivered last year (one dealer even wrote us "We are really very enthusiastic!! What a performance!") we received so many orders that the product is not only our current best seller but also in waiting list up to May 2008.

The wonderful noise generated by the forums about our DVD Players is certainly part of the effect.
In fact we love these guys... They made so much noise that everybody inquires about our now-famous DVD machines!
To help them, we are even showing below the inside of an Eidos 20 so they don't have to buy one to know what's inside. We even included the reference of all the Pioneer parts we use, aren't we nice?

We also had an interesting reaction from some far-east customers who were finding the Eidos 20 too shallow and complained. So, we explained that the purpose was to minimize the HDMI path, a way we found to considerably increase the performance over our previous models.

Now, as the cherry on the cake, is coming our new model and our first gift for the new year, unexpected only a few weeks ago and that we pre-announced only in early January to our best distributors : The Eidos 20BD Blu.
Yes, it is a Blu-Ray machine, even if also a universal player.

Reken daar maar niet op, ik denk niet dat SACD en/of DVD-A in een blu-ray speler komt.
Ik heb daar laatst als eens iets over gelezen. Kan het niet terughalen....

Als ik bovenstaande tekst lees denk ik dat het ze toch gelukt is, zal het even navragen voor de zekerheid.

En volgens mij is de Goldmund apparatuur ook niet in zwart verkrijgbaar

Officieël niet, de importeur heeft echter een adres waar ze het apparaat zwart anodiseren. Ik heb een Eidos 19 of 20 in het zwart gezien en dat is ook wel heel apart om te zien

Vandaag even bij de importeur geweest, verwachte prijs voor de nieuwe Eidos 20 Blu Ray speler zal ergens rond de € 15.000,- liggen. Misschien komt er op termijn ook nog een Blu Ray versie van de SR-DVD welke een stuk goedkoper zal zijn maar nog steeds behoorlijk aan de prijs.

Tevens even geluisterd naar onderstaande set welke speelklaar stond:

• Goldmund Eidos 20 combispeler
• Goldmund SR-8 universal preamplifier
• Goldmund SR-150 stereo eindversterker
• Wilson Audio Sophia-2 luidsprekers

Kort en krachtig: mooie combinatie dit alles bij elkaar al was de SR-150 in mijn beleving de zwakste schakel, met een zwaardere versterker zou het laag denk ik wat krachtiger zijn.

Ik had zelf rond de € 12.000,- gegokt, iets duurder dan de bestaande Eidos-20

Heb inderdaad ook nog gevraagd naar het multispeler verhaal, importeur wist het eerlijk gezegd ook niet maar de verwachting is van wel. Zodra ik meer weet zal ik het hier melden

Er staat wat meer info over de Blu-ray speler op het internet

The new Goldmund Eidos 20 BD player embodies all the high-tech refinement Goldmund has developed during the last 20 years : Its "AC-Curator" Power supply circuit which dramatically improves picture and sound stability and dynamics, and the "Mechanical Grounding" construction which removes from the player mechanism spurious vibrations blurring the Video signal and increasing Jitter. In addition, the new Eidos 20 BD uses the Goldmund "Magnetic Damper", a device lowering the reading errors that the company kept only for its top models before.
The new player can play DVD and CD's in addition to the Blu-Ray discs. But the standard of these is not up to the level encountered in the other players of the company and that its design aimed at improving the BD disks in priority.

Dus in mindere mate te gebruiken als high-end CD loopwerk...
Dat is toch wat ik graag zou willen zien! High-end CD/DVD/BR loopwerk! Wellicht komt dat nog, het is wel de eerste high-end merk welke zover is met een BR speler.
