Vandaag dus Martijn en Doorofnight op bezoek gehad.

Het was erg leuk en we zijn zowaar nog aan de muziek toegekomen. ;D

Ik weet niet of ze hier nog eea posten , maar wees welkom in deze. :)

Dus, driemaal raden wat ik vandaag gedaan heb  8)

Nog even ter herinnering voor degenen die dit draadje al een tijdje geleden hebben gelezen:



De kracht van dit systeem is vooral het uitmuntende laag. De enorme subwoofers kunnen de ruiten eruit blazen maar ook bij normale volumes klinkt het allemaal prima. Het laag is mooi geïntegreerd en zelfs superstrak. In HT opstelling vliegen de helikopters je om de oren (het was een of andere terminator film), compleet met meer dan genoeg druk.

Bij het zien van dit  'grof geweld' op de foto verwacht je haast geen verfijning/resolutie maar die is er wel degelijk. De hoorns zijn direct en de resolutie is uitstekend. "Shame" van het album "Savage" van Eurythmics heeft een leuk synthesizer geluidje dat heel subtiel van "glad" overgaat naar een soort belletje, een rinkeltje. Prima hoorbaar: ik hoefde absoluut niet te zoeken. Bij sommige opnames deed het geluid me bijna denken aan vliezen: bijvoorbeeld bij het eerste nummer: een trompetje, alle details zijn aanwezig, maar waar staat dat trompetje precies? Ergens links en rechts, en ín mijn hoofd. Of je daarvan houdt is een kwestie van smaak. Een slechte (?) opname bleef aan de luidsprekers plakken, de rest van de muziek niet. Er kwam nog een heel interessant jazz-achtig nummerr voorbij, dat ik graag wil toevoegen aan mijn collectie..

Edwin, dank je wel voor je gastvrijheid en de mogelijkheid om je set te mogen beluisteren.

Het bewuste nummer is "Truth" van Sidsel Endresen ( CD "In there, out there").

De Noesis zijn idd opvallend veelzijdig.
Wij hebben bij vlagen echt stevig gespeeld en het geluid blijft intact, terwijl ik s'avonds rustig luister en ze ook hun kwaliteiten behouden.
Het geluid is direct en onderscheidend in opnames.
Ik ervaar het niet als scherp , maar de directheid maakt wel dat het geen alledag- of allemans-speakers zijn.
Voor HT wil je dat juist, terwijl ik met muziek na een tijdje luisteren toch ( al voor hun komst in de set ) mijn aandacht verleg en het volume demp.

Undertow vind ik ook een fraai album van haar, al is dat wat kronkeliger (in de zin van minder ritmisch).

Op verzoek van Martijn, en omdat ik het zelf leuk vind, heb ik het afstraalgedrag van de Noesis 212 HT LP gemeten.
Voor zover mijn kunde reikt in deze. ;)

Oplopend : 0, 30 , 45, 60, 90
Afstand was 0,5 m , hoornhoogte.

Je ziet dat de hoorn tussen 1000 en 1200 Hz directioneel wordt.
Dit is ook wat op AVSforum werd aangegeven en klopt met de omvang en 60hor/40vert vorm.

De laatste weken veel gespeeld en gekeken.
Ik blijf de JTR's geweldige speakers vinden en ook een bezoek aan BB&G afgelopen week, waar toch mooi spul staat , heeft mij geen moment in verleiding gebracht.

Na enig gehannes  ;D, ben ik er in geslaagd een GIK 242 paneel achter de rechterspeaker te plaatsen.
Hoewel deze zeker niet optimaal stond, was het verschil op gehoor duidelijk waarneembaar.
De klank is strakker en komt meer de ruimte in (=losser van de speakers).
Aanleiding was Toole in een poging om de 1/4 golflengte destructieve interferentie (1/4 WL DI) te verminderen.
Of ik daarin ben geslaagd betwijfel ik, maar hetgeen ik hoorde was wel voldoende om de GIK 244's die nog nieuw in de berging staan eens op deze plekken in te zetten.
Dan zou er dus 1 achter linker- en 1 achter rechter-front komen te hangen.

244's lopen dieper door dan 242's in absorbtie, dus ik ben benieuwd of ze ook de respons van 80-120 Hz gaan verbeteren.
Volgens berekening zou ik daar het meest last moeten hebben van de 1/4 WL DI.
En als dat hem is verklaart het ook de gemeten dip.

Het draadje mag nog wel iets korter, zodat het paneel hoger komt.

Straks voorzichtig luisteren en woensdag eens meten.

Morgen komen de stands voor de rechter.
Als die eenmaal staat post ik foto's.

Eens zien of de rechter wel bevalt.

Het liet me niet los dus ik heb de linker 244 nogmaals opgehangen. :tounge:
Op een iets ander positie.
Of ik had snert in mijn oren of deze plek is daadwerkelijk beter, maar nu bevalt het resultaat mij wel.

Vanmiddag een meetsessie.

De stands zijn nu ook binnen.
Rechts is echter wat meer werk aangezien de amp-box afgekoppeld moet worden om er bij te kunnen.

En gemeten.
70-100 Hz zijn er duidelijke verschillen.
+ 3dB @ 68 Hz en + 4 dB @ 90 Hz springen in het oog.

Dit komt ongeveer overeen met de verwachtingen mbt 1/4 WL DI.

Rood met bass-trap, blauw zonder.

Details zal ik besparen , maar het was een aardig puzzeltje om deze over de Cap en langs de 212 te krijgen. :P

Ipv dat het geluid doodser wordt gaat het juist de levendige kant op.
Ongetwijfeld een gevolg van minder versmering.

Als ik op het gehoor een sweep draai lijkt er in 1/4 WL DI amper iets veranderd.
Muzikaal is het echter een wereld van verschil.
Losser in de ruimte, meer 3D dus.
Fijndynamiek en detail is gestegen en het groffe geweld heeft meer impact en controle.
Ook is er meer coherentie in het geluid van instrumenten.

Luid spelen was al een genot met de JTRs , nu is het bijna een must. :tounge:
