You cannot tell what is wrong when you havn't opened the unit..
Maybe this problem is caused by another defect...

are you sure the ''cloc'' is defect or is this just another gues from somebody at a hifi forum.... ?

jp56

My frend tested the condensators and there are good , i is sure it is mechanical

jp56

It is somebody of my family.

Here in holland there are enough people who can fix it.

Really? I thought the Chord amps are quite complex and ordinary "amp repair people" will not touch it.
I sent my SPM2400 to England a few years ago. It is not difficult. Just add postage. I went through the dutch importer.

They repaired free of charge for me. I only paid for shipping and insurance.

My repair man told me this :
The output stage is nothing unusuale (normal class A/B)
Only thing what was diffrent from most is the powersupply.
A good engineer can fix it, no problem !

The Chord spm 1200 e are fantastic .

jp56

I have found the solution for not have the " cloc"  when i push on the button on off in the unit , just put always the button on push in
when i connect the  outlet on the wall the unit is operationel.
What do you think of that ?
Excuse my bad English

What about if you use the 12V trigger? Then you can leave the on/off button of the Chord activated/On and power it using the 12V trigger signal. That is how I switch on/off my Chord SPM2400. I never use the button on the front panel.

I think just pulling the plug from the AC outlet is not a "good" way to switch it off. But I am not sure if it would do harm to the unit.

Robbo

I use a power socket with on/off switch, so I can cut the power to all A/V equipment.   I contacted Chord, if this could harm my SPMs, several years ago.  And there reply was it should be no problem.

Several years later of about 20 times on/off switching later, still no issue on both SPMs.

jp56

What is it the 12v trigger ?

jp56

i have ask to Matthew and i said there is no problem to put off the units like that , just put off the speakers .
