Ik moet nl ook nog iets bedenken... Zag wel dat je van die plastick standaard dingen hebt maar die zien er zo zieligjes uit. Dat past niet bij zo'n project als deze!

Het frame heeft nl. 4 STALEN pennetjes met een busje van goede kwaliteit
(Ik heb zelfs het type nr. van Intertechniek op mijn post gezet  ;)).

Ik ben gewoon voor de dunste mogelijkheid gegaan omdat mijn frame behoorlijk dun moet worden want er komt nog "anti-diffractie matje"  van 14 mm dik in het frame geklemd, en op de baffle 1mm zwart vilt

Dunst mogelijke is denk ik voor dze unit idd een juiste keus. Het frame zelf zal vast niet zo zwaar zijn.

Ik neem aan dat je de zwaardere kwaliteit kiest bij de grotere zwaardere frame's.

Nu ik zelf met de laagkast bezig ben valt mij iets op aan de "eigenklank" van MDF... ik vind het niet zo'n mooie natuurlijke zware houtklank hebben. Heb je al een beetje nagedacht over het middenlaag en het laag?

het is ook heel licht vergeleken met Multiplex met hardhout erin, net of er meer "lucht" in zit.

Weet je hoe Avalon dit heeft opgelost, of denk je dat een goede bracing voldoende is om die "eigenklank" tegen te gaan.

Vandaag weer bezig...veel moeite om het buitenframe...mooi te krijgen...luistert krankzinnig nauw...

Het midlaag gaat weer uit allemaal deeltjes bestaan...helaas wordt dit het moeilijkste onderdeel...hij is nl aan de voorzijde deels 90 graden (veel facetten) aan de achterzijde volledig 8 graden en aan de zijkanten 10 graden....

Maar met zo een kopconstructie ga ik ook het midlaag optimaal
te lijf.....al duurt het mij maanden....ik bouw hem toch maar 1 keer!!!!!

Het (sub)laag komt daarna pas aan de beurt, ....ik heb hier wel wat ideetjes voor ...maar probeer mij daar nu niet op te concentreren....

Avalon werkt uitsluitend met MDF,...door het op veel plaatsen erg dik te maken en met lijmsoorten en verschillende diktes te werken gaan ze de resonanties te lijf...ook tunen ze de units door a-periodische kamertjes te maken, afgestemd op de specifieke unit welke ze willen dempen....

...wat ben ik blij met een cv in de garage.....

deze avond het buitenframe gelijmd op de 2e kop.

...omdat je met 4mm plaat (de facet) aankomt onder een hoek van 45 graden moet je nog een strookje lijmen van bv 8 x 4 mm...deze zorgt dan dat je uiteindelijk weer netjes 90 graden op de baffle staat en ook weer voor een werkende breedte van 13 mm en een diepte van
4 mm  voor het latere speakerframe een beetje in te verzinken

Hierbij de 2 koppen broederlijk naast elkaar.

Je ziet dat de 1e bodemplaat al op de 2e xXx kop zit...dus van het weekend de 2e afwerkplaat wat de bodem dan gemiddeld 6 cm dik maakt.... 8)


Trouwens wie snel nog even alle foto's wil zien ...maar zich niet wazig wil zoeken op het forum...ALLES staat op mijn site... ;)

Vandaag de hele dag besteed om mijn materialen voor de xXx-Body
te vergaren.

Het is een mix geworden van:

MDF-Spaanplaat-Berken-Teflon-Lood-Corian-Kurk-Acryl

De Baffle wordt 14 cm dik dus daar worden sowieso alle materialen ingezet.

De bedoeling van deze verscheidene materialen is om een "chaotische structuur" te creeren welke niet in staat is om een dominante resonantie (bv. materiaal eigen-resonantie) te ondersteunen maar in plaats daarvan de trillingen gelijkmatig over een zeer brede bandwijdte te verdelen.

Dave Wilson (Watt) heeft zijn beroemde "X" material....here is "xXx" ;)
