Tja nu mijn loopwerk zo naar behoren presteert kijk ik alweer met een schuin oog naar mijn Nos D/A Converter.
Niet eens zozeer omdat ik ontevreden ben maar er zijn in de loop der tijd wat ideeen bij me opgekomen welke deze Frankenstein Dac
(ver-gebouwd door Audionote/Ed/Peter/Herman/Guido/Erik)  zeker naar een hoger level kunnen tillen.

Om een beginnetje te maken heb ik de externe powersupply gepakt deze bestaat uit wat trafo''s, condensatoren, Elco's, filters en buizengelijkrichting.

Hier zie je de huidige staat van de Xsupply...een beetje een rommeltje maar het werkt allemaal en blijft stabiel.

Een naam voor het project...uhhh...ik noem hem gewoon arrogant de DAC 6.... ;D

Dus eerst een platform waarop gebouwd gaat worden.
Ik kies weer voor meerlagen berken gecombineerd met lood en als toplaag een mooie plak koper...

Ik lijm het geheel weer op elkaar met de bekende konstructie bruislijm en als je goed klemt heb je een prachtig zwaar gedempt platform.. ;)

Hij gaat er een tikkie sensationeler uitzien omdat ik erg ge-inspireerd ben door Josh Stippich van Electronluv.com (wat een audio-kunstenaar is dat zeg !!!) dus ik kies voor een organische vorm waar mijn 2 maal 6X4WA Tung-Sol gelijkrichtbuizen op gaan komen....dat is een extreem werkje...ik heb de lat hier voor mezelf behoorlijk hoog gelegd...buiten het stille platform en ebben voet ..bouw ik deze ingewikkelde schelp puur voor de looks... ;D

...Dac 6 aka...komt wel tijdens het project... ;)

Haakse slijper tevoorschijn en op maat maken...12 mm massief koper kun je alleen maar hiermee te lijf... :wacko:

...de lelijke 90 graden buigknik van de machine vijl ik helemaal weg zodat er een mooie flow in het omgebogen koper komt...

Uit ebben maak ik de verhoging, een rond platformpje voor mijn buisvoeten...

...en de eerste modificatie is alweer een feit...ik ga ipv mijn huidige plastic met metaal deze keer gelijk voor 2 maal een keramische 7-pins buisvoet (Azuma) met vergulde contactjes....
De M3 boutjes naast de buisvoetopeningen gaan via de ring via het ebben ook meteen door de koperen schelpbodem om te koppelen......en ik kan je vertellen dat dit een paar gespleten ebben ringen heeft opgeleverd.. :-X

Hier even een ruwe lay-out van wat de bedoeling is...(en ja hij ligt nog even wat scheef op de foto..  >:D)

Dempt dit net zo goed als een zandgevulde plaat? Ik vind het dan namelijk een hele mooie en makkelijke oplossing.

ik ga deze weer volgen. Vraag me af of je niet op wat connectoren (overgangsweerstanden en potentiele storingsbronnen) wilt bezuinigen  ;)

Ik denk dat hij zijn huidige dac om gaat bouwen in een heel mooie behuizing. (is het een AD 1865?)
Maar waarom ga je nu voor een rondere behuizing Erik en niet voor de voorversterker en cd loopwerk stijl ?
