InterVideo, Inc. reported that WinDVD, its DVD player for PCs, is shipping with IBM's ThinkPad R Series, available immediately. InterVideo also announced that additional ThinkPad and NetVista platforms will be shipping with WinDVD at a later date.

"InterVideo is delighted to be working with IBM on the ThinkPad and NetVista platforms," said Steve Ro, CEO and co-founder of InterVideo. "Now IBM customers will be able to watch DVD movies on their computers at home or on the road."

WinDVD allows PC users to watch DVDs and Video CDs on a computer. WinDVD 3, InterVideo's newest version, features improved picture quality, audio decoding and InterVideo's unique time-stretching functionality. With time stretching a user can watch an hour and a half long DVD in an hour flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas, without distorting the video or audio quality. WinDVD 3 also introduces other features like picture bookmarks, which allow a user to bookmark favorite DVD scenes with thumbnails.
