Cypress Semiconductor revealed it will participate in the Intel Developer Forum, Spring 2002 held at the Moscone Center, South Hall from Feb. 25th through Feb. 27, 2002.

Cypress will highlight its USB and timing solutions at the show. Cypress will feature live demos of the following USB 2.0 and timing products. The SL811HS USB host/peripheral controller implements the new USB On-the-Go (OTG) standard. This is Cypress's first-to-market embedded host controller with a single dual-role port, which functions as either host or peripheral. Cypress's ISD-300A1 ATA/ATAPI bridge features high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity to mass storage devices. With speeds of up to 480 Mbits/sec, the ISD-300A1 is an optimum solution for applications that demand greater bandwidth such as hard drives, CD-RW, DVD-RAM, Zip, SuperDisk, HiFD and CompactFlash. Cypress's TetraHub is the only USB 2.0 hub controller to integrate four transaction translators allowing connected peripherals -- low-speed (1.5 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps), and high-speed (480 Mbps) -- the highest performance possible in a USB-enabled system. TetraHub is a fixed-function solution, requiring no firmware intervention, thereby reducing design risk and development time. The TetraHub may be used as a high-bandwidth controller in standalone hubs, monitor hubs, port replicators and docking stations. Cypress's EZ-USB FX2 is the world's first USB 2.0 integrated peripheral controller. It includes an 8051 processor, a serial interface engine (SIE), a USB transceiver, on-chip RAM and FIFO, and a general programmable interface. The FX2 is a fully-integrated solution, requiring little board space and providing fast time-to-market. This device is the first high-speed USB microcontroller to successfully pass the compliance tests set by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). Cypress's EZ-USB SX2 intelligent serial interface engine (SIE) provides a 480-Mbps USB 2.0 connection to a peripheral containing a microcontroller. The SIE logic handles all standard USB protocol tasks, freeing up the peripheral's microcontroller to handle important application specific tasks. The intelligent SIE makes it easy to add high-speed USB to many peripheral applications, including scanners, printers, networking devices, and digital video cameras. Cypress's field-programmable clock generators operate at speeds up to 200 MHz, the timing devices provide highly stable, easily configurable clock outputs for use in a wide range of commercial and consumer applications, including switches, routers, computers, DVD players and digital cameras. Cypress's CyClocksRT software demonstrates ease-of-use for a system designer in configuring a Cypress clock product to meet his timing needs.
