Blijkbaar is er vanuit de HT wereld veel concurrentie met zaken zoals Kinepolis. Ze hebben nu iets nieuws op de markt : digitaal geprojecteerde 3d cinema.
Het blijft wel met brilletjes. Tegenoffensief nu 1080p en dus de kwaliteit van de cinema vlot in huis haalbaar is.

Iemand een clue hoe ze dit doen ? 2 barco projectoren met gepolariseerd licht en dan een brilletje ? Of loopt dit via 1 enkele projector en 1 enkele HD stream ? En een deel van de gamut naar linkeroog en ander deel naar rechter zoals met de ouderwetse rood/groen brilletjes. De oplossing met gepolariseerd licht vind ik nog steeds visueel de knapste.

Ben benieuwd. Ik weet dat Frankdw hier wellicht een beter antwoord kan op formuleren, hij heeft via Grid het intro filmpje voor de nieuwe business van Kinepolis gemaakt.

Als ik dit zo lees dan denk ik dat het als volgt moet werken:

Standaard projector met een filter ervoor, en wellicht een brilletje met een oog horizontaal en ander oog verticaal gepolariseerd. En een hogere framerate afspelen en dan time-slicing tussen linker en rechter oog waarbij het filter voor de Barco projector dus heel de tijd horizontaal/verticaal switched.

Update: inderdaad, na verder googlen gebruiken ze een wieltje met daarop filters wat ronddraait. Om de flikker te reduceren spelen ze dus in hogere refresh rate af, maar zo'n 2K projector van Barco kan gerust meer dan 24p aan Zie hier http://www.zdnet.nl/print.cfm?id=74231 . Ik snap ook al waarom dit met een thuis DLP nooit goed komt : een wieltje bovenop een wieltje komt nooit lekker  De Barco's zijn triple DLP zonder wieltje dus zonder rainbow effect.

Er zijn een aantal passieve methoden, je moet de twee kanalen scheiden dat kan op meerdere manieren met een of twee projectoren. Twee projectoren met off-set of met een vertraging tussen links en rechts, een projector met vertraging/polarisatie. De vertraging, dus links bereikt je oog iets eerder dan rechts of andersom kun je op verschillende manieren bereiken, klassieke methode of polarisatie of offset en dus langere afstand van projector naar oog voor het tweede kanaal, maar las onlangs ook weer over een van de Amerikaanse leveranciers die het spectrum filteren en zo dieptewerking creeren, als ik het me goed herinner heb je dan geen brilletje (filters) nodig.

Polarisatie heeft als zeer groot nadeel dat je maar een (zeer) beperkte hoeveelheid van het oorspronkelijke licht uit de projector overhoud. Barco heeft hier wel ergens een pdf-je over op de site staan, bespreekt zowel crt als lcd projectoren.

Maar echt ingedoken ben ik (nog) niet in 3D.

Daarnaast heb je actieve methodes, die werken met een gesynchroniseerde bril en weergever. In de bril zit een electronische shutter, die gaat dus dicht als het beeld voor het andere oog wordt vertoond. Mitsubishi heeft aangekondigd, volgend jaar, een 120Hz DLP rear-pro/blu-ray speler combi op de markt te brengen in de VS. Hoorde/las dat TI weer een Samsung DLP gebruikte voor zijn demo('s).

Grid has new Softworks systems

Grid has recently bought another 3 copies of Softworks.  This is the new "software-only" version from the world renowned Lightworks family of high-end Film and Television Editing equipment.

Grid is based in Belgium and they have recently been editing the Vermist project which is a Police drama directed by Jan Verheyen and his co directors. Vermist has a story-line which follows the ups and downs of the Missing Person unit of the Belgium Federal Police. Originally shot on 16mm film the final program will be 10 episodes in full HD.  Grid also finished katarakt, a very high profile drama series (13 episodes, 52 min) for Flemish national broadcaster één and 2 features for studio 100, Plop en de penguin, and K3 & de katteprins. Plop and Vermist are at the moment Box Office nos. 1 & 2 at Flemish cinemas breaking every film record in Flemish history. All of these projects were finished in HD with "help" from Lightworks Alacrity

Grid has upgraded their Lightworks systems to add the new Softworks systems to their existing 3 machines and also an Alacrity HD system, all linked to an Isilon central storage system.  They have a satellite option for out-of-office artists, which has been used by the renowned editor, Filip Ravoet.  By this upgrade, Grid has reinforced their commitment to the Lightworks family which stems from the film orientated structure and the much-loved console which allow the creative process full scope.

Softworks was first shown at the IBC 2006 exhibition in Amsterdam and it has all the editing tools of the Lightworks Alacrity MR+ systems. It can be used as a Software only package without the video and audio I/O hardware or with an optional SD I/O card.  Material and projects can be exchanged or shared with Alacrity and other editing systems in a wide range of formats including DV25, MPEG2, uncompressed and as mxf, aaf, Quicktime or omf files.  Softworks can be easily integrated into advanced networking technologies allowing for efficient sharing of projects and media over Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre channel networks.

Lijkt mij thuis prima haalbaar (nu alleen nog een 3d film als bron zien te scoren...), beetje duur alleen.
Ik heb een tijdje terug op de HCC-beurs in Utrecht een stand gezien waar ze met 3d aan het expirimenteren waren. Ze konden met behulp van 2 dlp projectoren hele mooie resultaten bereiken. Ieder beeld van een projector werd dan anders gepolariseerd en met behulp van zo'n brilletje werden de beelden weer uit elkaar gehaald.

Het lijkt mij dat dit ook standaard in een projector ingebouwd moet kunnen worden .

Ik heb er stiekem al eens aan zitten denken om 2 infocus x1's op de kop te tikken en zelf wat met 3d te gaan expirimenteren
