Nieuwe versie Pronto Edit

Voor alle Pronto gebruikers,

Er is nu een nieuwe versie van Pronto Edit verschenen op de site van Philips www.pronto.philips.com (ook te vinden op www.remotecentral.com) .
Het is versie 4 die geldig is voor alle Pronto's, dus de TS-1000 (USA, 1 MB), TSU-2000 (USA, 2 MB), TSU-6000 (USA, 8 MB), SBC RU 890 (Europe, 1 MB), SBC RU 940 (Europe, 2 MB), SBC RU 970 (Europe, 8 MB).

Ik heb deze versie nu draaien naast mijn oude Pronto Edit v 1.05 om te vergelijken en ik moet zeggen dat de nieuwe versie is niet echt vernieuwend is maar het is toch een aanvulling, vanwege de firmware updates voor alle modellen.

Multiple configuration file types capability:

Pronto USA:

TS1000 black and white 1Mb Pronto

Galleries
All different configuration file types have their own galleries. The user can select a desired gallery from the Tools menu.

Pack and Go
All configuration file types can be packed into a stand-alone executable with download capabilities.

Copy Actionlists
A Buttons' actions can become easily copied by just dragging the button towards another button while holding down the shift button.

Modify Bitmaps
All configuration file types have the "Modify Bitmaps" feature, making it possible to change a configuration files' bitmaps in an easy way.

Conversion and Exporting
Exchanging configuration files is made even more easy. A configuration file can now be converted to another type by just exporting it or opening it to/in another configuration file type.

Emulators
Emulators have been included for all editable configuration file types, making it possible to test the configuration file before downloading it.

Sample configuration files
Sample configuration files are included for all configuration file types.

Help
Indexed Help is provided via the application menu.

Known issues

In some cases downloads to the device might fail. To avoid this, make sure to awaken the device before the download of the configuration file is started.

Solved issues

Communication problems for Windows XP are solved.
Saving a configuration file that exceeds the maximum size will not be possible. In previous versions of ProntoEdit, an empty file was saved causing loss of data. The editor now makes a backup copy, so that in case of a save failure, a restore of the backup is made.
RF settings for Home and Macro are made possible in the new ProntoEdit 4.
Improved device connectivity.
General stability has been improved.

ik ben eigenlijk benieuwd wat er in de firmware update zit... weet iemand dat..?

De firmware RU940 Upgrade SYS. V4.8, APP. V4.86 is overigens niet nieuw. Deze gebruik ik toch zeker al een paar maanden.
[/edit] sterker nog, ik zie op mijn pronto, dat die firmware van 22-02-01 is [edit]

Er is op de fora (forums) van //www.remotecentral.com vast wel terug te vinden wat de firmware updates inhouden..

De firmware is inderdaad niet nieuw. Toen ik mij een Pronto heb aangeschaft (vorig jaar oktober) had ik deze firmware versie al in mijn Pronto. Mijn firmware is ook van 02/22/2001.
Maar het is wel zo dat als je Pronto net uit de fabriek komt dat de firmware altijd nieuwer is dan die je kunt downloaden van de Philips site.

Nog een tip die ik gelezen heb op www.remotecentral.com voor Pronto Edit gebruikers (v1.05 en v4):

Aanvulling font sizes:

Voor Pronto Edit v 1.05:

Zoek in de Windows map het bestand Pronto.ini op en open dit bestand.

Als het goed is ziet het eruit zoals hieronder:

Om nu de fonts aanvulling te krijgen moet het eruit komen te zien zoals hieronder:

Dus gewoon de komma dan de spatie en dan het sterretje.



Voor Pronto Edit v 4 is het wat gevaarlijker omdat je aanpassingen moet maken in het register (of download de Pronto.ini workshop (werkt voor v 1.05 en v 4) van www.remotecentral.com)


Open het register (uitvoeren -> regedit -> OK).
Ga naar HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Philips Electronics N.V. -> ProntoEdit -> 4.0.3 -> Settings.

Nu moet je weer hetzelfde doen als voor Pronto Edit v 1.05. Dus komma, spatie en dan sterretje bij de verschillende fonts.


Na deze aanpassing heb je niet meer de beschikking over alleen 10, 14 en 18. Maar 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 en 18.
