Is it a kind of template that you used for the speakerdrivers?

The metalplate is 4mm thick aluminium, it´s for the terminal together with the binding posts shown above. The template is done by regular plastic, same way as for the drivers to sunk the plates into baffle. Avalon has the terminal under the cabinet but to make easier to change speaker cables i will put the terminal on the backside.

Hi mangew

Going strong now looks very good.
I sent pictures later of the finished cabinets.
Didn't find the time yet.

wow, this is an impressive project! I was just reading it through and it looks very pro. Very curious what the final result will be and how it will sound. Will keep track of this thread for sure.

yet another Eidolon clone soon to be finished:

Internat bracing and damping:

The cabinet is cvered with 3mm MDF to cover edges and chamfers on front:

Bery nice.

But i think it's better to remove some damping materials.

The experience is that this will giva a faster and more detailled sound.

My experiences are the other way around. You should stuff the cabinet with wool, from top to bottom, to make sure that decays of sound sources in recordings are not masked by any cabinet resonances. I wouldn't use pritex though, only a little bit to keep the wool at its place.

I agree...I tried with and without wool... ;)

I also tried a little bit and a lot....

Wool for me ....any day of the week....and a lot.....  ;D

So, then it´s not to much could be more damping material?

The project still in progress, cabinet alsmost ready and waiting for crossover design to be finished.

At last there is not much left to do before i can listen to these speakers.

Veneer is put on the cabinet:
