Monitor Audio's Gold Signature speaker range

Monitor Audio has launched the Gold Signature range, its new flagship speaker line-up. Replacing the existing Gold Reference series the six model range comprises a stand-mounting speaker, the GS10; two floor standing speakers, the GS20 and GS60; a dual-mode surround speaker, the GS-FX; a dedicated centre-channel speaker, the GS-LCR; and a 1000W (RMS) active subwoofer, the GSW-12.

The two-way GS10 stand-mount speaker uses a new, low distortion 61/2-inch RST2 bass-mid driver and 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter developed specially for the GS series. The GS20's two-and-a-half way, three-driver configuration is built around a dual-cavity cabinet design, in which the 61/2-inch RST2 bass and bass-mid drivers work into separate enclosures, and above that is a 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter.

Utilising the cavity technology of the GS20, the three-way, four-driver configuration of the GS60 comprises two 61/2-inch RST2 bass drivers, a single 61/2-inch RST2 bass-mid driver and 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter. The GS-FX is a completely new design for the company, featuring dual mode configuration that can be switched automatically by a 12V trigger to accommodate a range of surround sound applications. The speaker's slim-profiled angled baffle design incorporates three driver pairs. When used in monopole mode to reproduce side or rear channels it uses a front-firing 61/2-inch RST2 bass/mid driver and 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter and in dipole mode it uses two side-firing pairings of 4-inch C-CAM bass/mid driver and 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter combined with the tailored output from the front-firing bass/mid driver.

The GS-LCR features dual 61/2-inch RST2 bass-mid drivers and 1-inch gold C-CAM tweeter whereas the GSW-12 sub-woofer has a 1000 watt Class D power amplifier coupled to a new ultra-long throw 12in C-CAM driver, equipped with a massive 4in voice coil and a substantial (18kg) double stack motor system. Inputs/outputs include a balanced XLR input, LFE input (RCA), L/R stereo inputs (RCA), L/R link Inputs (RCA) and a link output (RCA Slave). The GSW-12 is available in piano black finish or real wood veneers to match the GS range.

Prices for the series are as follows: GS10 - £800, GS20 - £1500, GS60 - £2000, GS-LCR - £500, GS-FX - £900, GSW-12 - £1000.

Tja,

Ik sta op hete kolen om de nieuwste serie eens uit te testen, normaal zijn ze vanaf eind december/begin januari te verkrijgen .
Ik ben al geruime tijd liefhebber van MA Gold Reference speakers, maar de aankoop heeft telkens een paar keer uitgesteld geweest wegens dringende verbouwingen aan het huis, daar ik van plan ben om na nieuwjaar mijn speakers aan te schaffen kan ik haast  niet meer wachten.
Graag zou ik opteren voor een surround opstelling met de Gold Signature 60 als front,GS-LCR center,GSW12-sub,GS inwall als rears.
Mijn huidige Onkyo TX-SV545 reciever zou ik voor surround willen gebruiken maar voor de stereo (Front speakers) zou ik toch opteren voor een andere versterker.
Alle tips zijn meer dan welkom.

Nee ik heb deze foto's op de duitse  hifi-forum gevonden, mocht men deze opstelling willen aanschaffen dan zal men toch zeer diep in het spaarpotje mogen tasten.

Hmm, welke componenten staan er eigenlijk in het rek? Ik zie een cd-speler en een voorversterker. Maar wat is de rest?

Toen ik deze foto voor het eerst zag was ik sterk onder de indruk van de opstelling, ik ben toen op de website van marantz beginnen zoeken naar  welke componenten ze hadden gebruikt, maar ik kon ze niet allemaal terugvinden.
Naar het schijnt zouden ze de nieuwste componeneten van marantz gebruikt hebben.

Wat ik zie staan zijn twee MA-9S1 's uit de Reference series (300W mono blokken)
een SC-7S1 Reference voorversterker
een SA-11S1 Stereo CD / SA-CD speler uit de Reference serie
een TT-15S1 Platenspeler uit de Reference serie
en volgens mij ook nog een PM-11S1 geintegreerde versterker uit de Reference series.....
