Steve Hackett: Somewhere in South Africa Available on DVD and VHS November 19, 2002 Through Music Video Distributors

Oaks, PA - Music Video Distributors and Kudos Records are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Steve Hackett: Somewhere in South Africa for North and South American distribution on DVD.

This DVD features an amazing live performance from Steve Hackett and his band playing originally unreleased material as well as old favorites in the heart of South America. Throughout his career, his complex and distinctive playing has contributed heavily to the success of several bands, including Genesis and GTR. He has developed a distinct elegance and sophistication that has become a trademark of his consistent international solo success.

Like many of his former collaborators who have succeeded artistically on their own terms, Steve Hackett has remained true to his muses. He is someone who cannot be easily packaged and indeed has an aversion to the trappings of rock stardom. Yet, there is no question that Hackett is a legend whose reputation rests on sheer talent, sensitive playing and an ability to challenge and intrigue his audience.

In this feature concert, Hackett demonstrates his uplifting musical prowess by performing his emotion-building ballads accompanied by his orchestral rock n' roll outfit: Roger King (Keyboards), Gary O'Toole (Drums), Terry Gregory (Bass), Rob Townsend (Sax & flute). Through a masterful performance of a series of dreamlike songs, Hackett proves he is one of Britain's finest composers and guitarists.
