Panic

Panic.
Vandaag voor de 2e keer gezien. Aangezien het niet zo'n bekende film is wil ik er even de aandacht op vestigen.

William H. Macy, Neve Campbell, Josh Parks, John Ritter, Donald Sutherland, Tracey Ullman, David Dorfman.

Erg goede cast, origineel verhaal. Macy gaat door een wat bijzondere midlife crisis.
Volgens de hoes is het een black comedy, maar zelf vind ik het meer triest dan grappig.

Mijn goeroe vat het als volgt samen:
Henry Bromell's "Panic" seeps with melancholy, old wounds, repressed anger, lust. That it is also caustically funny and heartwarming is miraculous: How does it hit so many different notes and never strain? It has a relationship between Alex and his son Sammy that reminds us of "The Sixth Sense," and one between Alex and the sexy young Sarah (Neve Campbell) that evokes "American Beauty." And Alex himself, trying to keep everyone happy, trying to keep secrets, trying to separate the compartments of his life, has the desperation of the character Macy played in "Fargo."

Ook de tweede keer was ie weer erg goed. Een aanrader dus als je in de stemming bent voor een wat serieuzere film.

De transfer is prima. Geluid is helaas alleen dolby surround, maar is bij deze film niet zo belangrijk.
