The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys - Funny, Offbeat, Coming of Age Film Co-Starring Two-Time OscarĀ® Winner Jodie Foster Debuts on DVD and Videocassette Nov. 5

Culver City, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2002) - Two-time OscarĀ® winner Jodie Foster (Silence of the Lambs, The Accused) stars in the critically acclaimed film The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys, debuting on Special Edition DVD and videocassette Nov. 5, from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. The DVD is priced at $27.96 suggested list.

The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys is "One of the best coming-of- age films I know," said Joel Siegel from Good Morning America. An official entry at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival, The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys is a dark comedy about a rebellious group of eighth grade boys at a Savannah Catholic school. When the boys get caught drawing an obscene comic book featuring priests and nuns having sex, they avenge a daring prank on their ultra strict teacher, nasty peg-legged nun Sister Assumpta (Jodie Foster), in hopes of becoming local legends.

The up-and-coming young cast including Kieram Culkin (The Cider House Rules, Music of the Heart), Jena Malone (Contact, Stepmom), Emile Hirsch (ER, NYPD Blue) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black, Ed Wood, JFK, The Cell) all deliver outstanding performances.

The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys also features spectacular comic book art by Thomas Fleming and imagination animation segments art directed by Spawn creator Todd McFarlane.

The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys based on the 1994 book by the late Chris Fuhrman, marks the auspicious directorial debut of Peter Care, who previously helmed music videos for the Grammy-winning group, R.E.M. The film was produced by Jodie Foster's Egg Pictures, with Meg LaFauve, Tim Harbert, International Entertainment Company and Trilogy Entertainment Group.
