Another big name backs Blu-Ray HD DVD
Following Fox's recent announcement that it will launch its next-gen movide discs on the Blu-Ray format, Universal Music (which stables artists such as Elton John, Mariah Carey and U2) has now announced that it, too, will go the Blu-Ray route.

Just to make the situation even more confusing, Universal Pictures announced a while back that it is going to support the rival HD DVD format! Even though the two Universal companies operate entirely separately, the decision by them to back opposite formats is hardly going to make the format war easier for the average punter to comprehend.

Het HDDVD9 formaat schijnt al op een BluRay machine (prototype?) afgespeeld te kunnen worden.   Intergratie van de HD-DVD software standaard in de Blu-ray hardware/software standaard schijnt dus mogelijk te zijn.
