"Khan" you dig it -- "Star Trek" fans are in for a DVD treat.

Tuesday, Aug. 6 will see the release of a deluxe DVD edition of "Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan -- The Director's Edition," featuring a new version of the film and more than four hours of bonus material, according to the official "Star Trek" website.

The movie comes in an expanded 116-minute cut on disc one, including audio commentary by director Nicholas Meyer and text commentary by "Trek" encyclopedia co-author Michael Okuda.

The second disc will include the theatrical trailer, storyboards, and other bonus material, including new interviews with Meyer, producer Harve Bennett, and stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Ricardo Montalban.

There's also a "Designing Khan" feature that compares the look of "Star Trek I" and "Star Trek II"; a look at the special effects; and interviews with cast members done at the time of the film's release in 1982.

As well, a section called "The Star Trek Universe" will feature interviews with novelists Julia Ecklar ("The Kobayashi Maru") and Greg Cox ("The Eugenics Wars: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh").

The site said the package will retail for $32.99 in Canada, $24.99 in the U.S. (More on: Star Trek)
