The upcoming DVD at 5 conference is receiving strong support from Hollywood's creative community, with four top film directors participating in the June 27-28 celebration commemorating DVD's fifth anniversary.

Peter Bogdanovich, one of Hollywood's most distinctive directors, will serve as the luncheon keynote speaker during the conference, which takes place at the Marina Beach Marriott. Directors Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan), Allen Moyle (Empire Records) and John Singleton (Baby Boy, Shaft, Boyz N the Hood) will share their views on DVD and its intricate involvement in the filmmaking process in a panel discussion moderated by USA Today's Scott Bowles.

Bogdanovich directed such memorable films as The Last Picture Show, What's Up Doc?, Paper Moon and Mask and has a recurring role as Tony Soprano's psychiatrist's psychiatrist on the hit HBO TV series The Sopranos. Bogdonavich will discuss the growing bond that is developing between the creative and home video communities as a result of the original programming on DVD, including filmmaker commentaries, deleted scenes and documentaries on the making of the film.

DVD at 5 will also feature a broad-ranging discussion between the industry's top DVD producers, including Colleen Benn (Universal Studios Home Video), Rob Burnett (Usual Suspects), Anita Holly (Thirteen Days), Paul Hemstreet (Warner Home Video), Mark Rowan (Shrek) and Michael Stradford (Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment). Producers will preview their upcoming projects and discuss the ever-expanding spectrum of special features found on DVD.

The DVD at 5 Conference will provide a comprehensive update on the state of the DVD business five years after its launch as well as a look ahead to the next five years, in which DVD will become the dominant format for home entertainment. More than 300 leading studio, consumer electronics and label executives, film directors, DVD producers, financial analysts and prominent trade media are expected to attend.
