Pinnacle Presents Studio Version 8

Pinnacle Systems Inc. has unveiled its Pinnacle Studio version 8, the platform for Pinnacle Systems' consumer line of video editing solutions. Based on the technology that has earned Pinnacle Systems eight Emmy Awards for Technical Achievement, the Studio products have been ranked as the industry's top-selling products for the last two years.

Pinnacle Studio version 8 adds integrated DVD/VCD/SVCD creation tools as well as real-time transcoding from DV to MPEG2. The powerful new features will appeal to customers who have never edited before and to individuals who use existing Studio or competitor products and want to advance their movie-making capabilities.

Unlike other consumer video products that require users to handle video editing and disc authoring as two separate steps, Studio version 8 provides a seamless editing/authoring environment, providing unparalleled ease of use and creative flexibility. The full version of Studio 8 allows the creation of true Hollywood-style DVDs, with advanced features previously found only in professional DVD authoring packages costing hundreds or thousands of dollars more.

Studio 8 will be available as a standalone software product through select resellers in August for $99. Studio DV 8 including a FireWire card and Studio AV 8 which includes an analog capture board, each have a suggested list price of $129. For the ultimate home movie making system, Studio Deluxe 8 includes a board with FireWire and analog inputs and outputs and a suggested list price of $299. Studio 7 owners can upgrade to Pinnacle Studio 8 at a discount.
