DV Studio Technologies, LLC unveiled the newest addition to its acclaimed Apollo range, Apollo Archiver Pro. Aimed at industrial and professional users, Apollo Archiver Pro incorporates many highly desirable features, including full D1 video image quality, multiple-menu auto-index authoring, and stereo Dolby Digital audio encoding. Those with a library of important video content ageing on space-intensive videotape—particularly U-Matic—can readily archive this footage onto DVD with Apollo Archiver Pro.

According to Stephen Godfrey, DV Studio Technologies' VP Marketing & Sales, "Efficiency takes precedence over 'beauty' in archiving. And, the authoring needn't match that used for theatrical releases. Apollo Archiver Pro 's advanced muti-title/multi-chapter auto indexing capability makes it possible to do 'hands-off' DVD authoring. Users need only enter the number of Titles and the number of Chapters per Title. Apollo Archiver Pro will divide the content for each Title into the applicable number of equal Chapter parts and insert 'thumb-nail' navigation points—automatically. The Dolby Digital audio encoder compresses the audio to professional standards—enabling more video content to fit on the DVD."

Apollo Archiver Pro was designed to be as universal as possible. It supports both NTSC and PAL. It accepts video from VTRs of irrespective of tape format via S-Video or Composite Video. It also accepts .avi files made from Type-1 or Type-2 DV format videotapes. It sends its DVD image file to all currently available DVD burners. The hardware/software product is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems. It is available for the U.S. list price of $2,495.
