Re: Slayers DVD Collection (Cat # SSDVD-6198)

It has been brought to our attention that certain of the discs shipped from the first production batch of Slayers DVD Collection have audio phase inversion issues, due to a production batch problem. These are inside the initial gift boxes which were shipped out to meet street date, based on orders received by order cut-off time. They also include the discs sent to The Right Stuf as replacement discs for the original Slayers DVD release.

No further shipments are being made until we complete the QC tests needed to confirm the status of our inventory. We currently expect that our tests and remanufacturing will be completed in time for shipments to resume approximately the week of July 15th.

Summary of Situation

There are 26 episodes of Slayers in the Slayers DVD Collection, on four discs.

The Japanese language tracks on 8 episodes have inverted audio phasing. This means that when played on 5.1 surround sound equipment in the Japanese language, the Japanese dialog appears more from the rear speakers, than from the front speakers. No problems are noticeable when played in normal stereo. Episodes 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, and 20, on discs B and C, are the episodes affected.

No problems exist with the English language tracks, which are fine in both stereo and 5.1, for all episodes.

Replacement Program:

We have asked The Right Stuf to cease processing the disc exchange program they are handling for us, until we can supply them corrected discs in mid-July. If you have already sent in for the exchange, then your order will be held until the time the revised discs are shipped to The Right Stuf.

If you have not yet taken advantage of the replacement program, please proceed to do so, so that you can be shipped replacements immediately upon availability.
