What is HDMI Control and how does it work?
HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) also called HDMI Control, is a feature on some model SR receivers that allows for one button control of supported system functions. This feature may also be available on other compatible devices such as TV displays.
For CEC control to work, all HDMI connected devices must have and support the CEC feature. A popular feature of HDMI Control (CEC) is the ability to pass through HDMI signal to your TV while the receiver is in Standby Mode. This feature can only be utilized per the device's compatibility with CEC.
The current model SR receivers come with the HDMI Control feature defaulted to "Off," but the feature can be enabled by accessing the HDMI Setup menu located within the Manual Setup menu option. To access more info on HDMI Control and specific functions, please see your owner's manual.
If you experience an unexpected operation of your system with components that are connected by HDMI cables, please check to see if CEC control is turned "On" for devices in your system. This may be the cause of the unexpected behavior. You can then make the necessary adjustments to obtain the operation desired.
Currently, all SR models are enabled with HDMI Control. Additionally, all current pre-amp processor models are also enabled with this feature.
