Ik heb het probleem met schokkerige pans opgelost door in de Windows driver van de Intel GPU de beeldfrequentie ook op 24 Hz te zetten. Nadeel is dat het nu wel lijkt alsof de muis wat trager over het beeld gaat, maar dat vind ik niet zo erg, ik gebruik toch alleen XBMC met afstandsbediening.

Ik heb er niet zo heel veel last van. Heel af en toe nog.
Zoals ik al zei heb ik het grootste deel van de problemen opgelost door het beeldscherm van setting te laten veranderen met het beeldformaat dat het ingestuurd krijgt.

Ik heb een AMD en heb in de Catalyst drivers de beeldverversingsfrequentie op 24Hz (1080p) staan.

Maar als ik 'm op 60Hz zet verschuift het probleem in dezelfde mate (voorlopig zeer beperkt) naar andere files. Dus ik laat 'm op 24Hz staan omdat dat toch het mooiste uitkomt voor films en TV-series (vanaf bluray).

Effe een vraagje ivm de RedBull.TV add-on: Als ik een ondemand event bekijk stopt de stream plots. Ik start b.v. de stream voor de UCI World Cup XCO en hij begint netjes te spelen. Maar na een aantal minuten stopt ie er gewoon mee. Als ik de stream dan opnieuw start begint ie gewoon weer vanaf het begin. Maar hij speelt 'm weer niet helemaal uit.
Sommige streams duren zo maar enkele seconden. Sommige streams speelt ie meer dan een kwartier. Maar hij laat nooit de hele stream zien.

Enig idee hoe dat komt?

Dat ligt volgens mij aan die addons zelf.
Ik had dat ook met de Apple trailer addon, de trailer start maar naar een paar seconden stopte deze gewoon, en dat met zo goed als alle trailers.

Die UCI MTB wedstrijden interesseren me uitermate en die worden hier nooit uitgezonden.
Die streams zijn dus super als ze werken.

Ik ben inmiddels probleemloos van Frodo 12.3 naar Gotham 13 RC1 gegaan. Mijn ervaring met Gotham is dat het een stuk sneller werkt, meer responsive. De nieuwe subtitels addon werkt beter en sneller. Verder is het fijn dat de settings nu gelaagd zijn.

Het was wel van belang om de XBMC repository een force refresh te geven zoals door hen vermeld zodat de addons ook ge-update worden.

Ha Allemaal,
Heb een vraag voor de verzamelde wijsheid hier:

Ik draai XBMC (onder windows 7) op een Dell 7010 met een I3-3245CPU en een dvi naar hdmi kabel.

Nu heb ik het probleem dat bij het starten van een film deze erg schokkerig en traag is (audio probleem), alles staat volgens mij goed ingesteld (wasapi).
Dit probleem is weg zodra ik mijn receiver uit en weer aan zet. Mijn vorige receiver had dit (Yamaha RX-V675), en mijn huidige de RX-A2020
ook weer. Het lijkt een soort handshake probleem.
Ook lijkt mijn receiver niet goed herkend te worden, onder de XBMC audio instellingen zie ik wasapi:SHARP HDMI (mijn TV), wasapi:default (denk mijn receiver) en wasapi:Speakers (Realtek HD). Wat ik hier instel (qua wasapi) maakt niet uit, reactie is iedere keer hetzelfde. Na uit/inschakelen receiver alles o.k.

Op zich geen groot probleem, maar vindt het vervelend dat het niet goed werkt. En ik hou er niet van de receiver onnodig uit en in te schakelen.

Hoop dat iemand de gouden tip heeft

Zit net nog even met de video playback instellingen te spelen, en kan ook daar wat mee te maken hebben.

Zodra mijn tv aangeeft dat het input signaal 1080P 24Hz is gaat alles schokkerig en stroperig. Zodra hij 1080P 60Hz aangeeft draait het beter.
Als ik naar de info in XBMC kijk zie ik dat de film beide keren op 24 fps speelt.

Mijn receiver staat ingesteld dat hij het video signaal doorgeeft dus niet processed.

Merkte net ook als ik met behulp van de backspace toets naar de instellingen ga in XBMC en er dan weer uit dat mijn TV dan omschakelt tussen 24Hz en 60Hz. Dus moet dan de receiver weer uit en aan zetten.
Dit is te omzeilen door de setting Adjust display refresh rate to match video op start/stop te zetten. Dan wordt er dus alleen bij het starten van de film onderhandeld over de instelling. Maar nog steeds receiver uit/aan.

Horzel, ik heb in het begin ook soortgelijke problemen met framerate gehad die door de receiver veroorzaakt werden. Zijn er HDMI instellingen op de receiver waar je nog wat mee kunt spelen? Dat gaf bij mij de oplossing.
Ik heb nu alleen problemen wanneer zowel de tv als de beamer tegelijkertijd aan staan.
Verder kunnen ook de realtek drivers problemen veroorzaken, misschien kun je deze eens deïnstalleren?

Je hebt blijkbaar de Realtek drivers nog geïnstalleerd staan. Die moet je van je pc verwijderen.
Het volstaat niet andere drivers te kiezen. Je haalt ze best volledig van je pc.

Realtek drivers verwijderen doet helaas ook niets. Net even een Openelec installatie gedaan op een andere HDD, en dat werkt eigenlijk gewoon goed. Dus het is wel een drivers probleem. Als het aan mijn hardware zou liggen werkt OpenElec ook niet goed.

Nu zie ik wel meer problemen met de HD4000 chipset en XBMC, denk dat ik voorlopig maar met OpenElec aan de slag blijf.

Is dit eigenlijk ook DualBoot in te stellen icm. met Windows 7?

Gotham is final gegaan. Zojuist van de RC1 naar de Fi al gegaan en wederom zonder problemen. Gotham werkt echt een stuk sneller dan Frodo. Met name merkbaar tijdens het starten van XBMC en bij het laden van de home window. Aangezien mijn content op een NAS staat duurde dit een seconde of 5 met Frodo, nu met Gotham hooguit 2 voordat de recent toegevoegde films op de home window verschijnen.

The dark night of waiting is finally over. Because here it is. The stable release of XBMC 13.0 Gotham edition. It has been months of hard work, improvements and testing since the 12.x releases. There have been around 530 commits (chunks of code change) done by 51 developers during this time. Also a large group of translators who aided in making the user interface available in your local language. So we would like to thank every one, inside and outside of Team XBMC for their hard work and effort to make this possible. Not to forget all users who have been using the monthly and nightly builds, helping us test this upcoming release, and all third-party software libraries we use.

The past year we have kept you informed with our monthly blog posts of all the exciting new features added to this final release. Now, let's review a few of those features we're particularly excited about.

The features
Android Hardware Decoding

Since 2012 July 12, the single most requested feature has been hardware decoding in Android, and with XBMC 13 we are finally able to make that feature a reality. XBMC should run on Android 4.0 and higher and is offered now in two separate builds, namely ARM and x86, which are the hardware architectures of the device. You would need to consult your device specifications before you download XBMC for Android, though the vast majority of Android devices run on ARM hardware.

Raspberry Pi and Android speed improvements

Since the release of Frodo a lot of effort has been put into getting XBMC to run smoother on lower powered platform like the famous Raspberry Pi and of course Android. All this effort has paid off and the experience of using these devices has become much more polished and satisfying than ever before. In particular, opening your libraries, browsing through them, loading images and starting videos have all seen dramatic speed increases.

Stereoscopic 3D Rendering



For you lovers of 3D out there, we are also pleased to say that we now support 3D movies encoded in the following formats: SBS, TAB, anaglyph, and interlaced (on supported platforms for passive TVs). Unfortunately, XBMC cannot yet support 3D blurays and cannot provide hardware acceleration for FullSBS/TAB movies (therefore limiting those videos to relatively high powered CPUs).

Improved Touchscreen Support

XBMC on touchscreens now supports gesture controls during video playback, as well as supporting swiping controls in navigation.

Improved UPnP capabilities

Instances of XBMC throughout the house can now "speak" with each other and with other UPnP devices. Support now includes more advanced library browsing as well as "Play using..." functions, allowing XBMC to tell another device on the network to play a certain media file.

So you can browse the UPnP library on your tablet and send a video from that library straight to you main XBMC HTPC, similar to Apple's Airplay and Google's casting features.

Additionally when watching videos from the XBMC UPnP server, watch status will be updated so you don't have to remember what shows you've already watched.

Dramatic Audio Engine Improvements

The Audio Engine introduced with XBMC 12.0 "Frodo" has been reworked to be simpler, faster, with better quality and less likelihood of breaking in XBMC 13 across all platforms. You may also notice that some users will need to reconfigure their audio settings. This is caused by the audio improvements and restructuring of the settings systems. However this should be more intuitive and user friendly than it was in XBMC 12 thanks to improvements in Settings.

On Linux there is additional good news for Desktop users who don't use XBMC as a standalone HTPC through OpenELEC or XBMCbuntu. XBMC will now cooperate nicely with the pulseaudio server and will provide real pulseaudio support. This is a behavior change, make sure to read the PulseAudio XBMC wiki page to learn more.

Settings Improvements

From the user perspective, three major changes will be introduced that should dramatically improve usability in XBMC settings.

First, settings have been broken down into levels starting at beginner and going all the way up the scale to expert level. The typical XBMC user should never need to go very far past the Standard settings. If installing XBMC for friends or family, it is highly encouraged that you move the settings down to Beginner level. And if a setting has disappeared that you typically expect to see, definitely browse through the settings levels, as it likely has been hidden on a more advanced level.

Second, every setting now includes a description, which may be found at the bottom of the settings page on the default Confluence skin. If a setting title is odd or is otherwise confusing, this description is intended to clear up the purpose of the setting and the result of changing it.

Third, every setting page now includes a Reset to Default option so that if you find yourself completely unable to return to a usable state in XBMC, you can always start fresh without having to perform a complete reinstall. Importantly, resetting one group of settings to default does not affect any others. So if you have video settings just right, but audio is screwed up, you can reset audio without affecting video.

Making Subtitle Search Better



This change should give subtitle add-on developers a great deal more latitude for implementing changes and fixes without needing to wait for other add-on devs to submit similar fixes, all to the benefit of the user experience. From the user perspective, the only significant change will be in the way a subtitle search service is downloaded. The user will need to select and download their preferred subtitle add-on before starting a movie and searching for subtitles. At present there are 19 to choose from.

An Extended Python and JSON-RPC API for developers

While this feature may not be as immediately noticeable upon install, it could ultimately be one of the most important changes of XBMC 13. With the extension of the API, users should soon be able to control virtually every aspect of XBMC without once touching the XBMC UI. Developers will now have unprecedented opportunity to make even more powerful remote control apps, web GUIs, and XBMC add-ons. For example, with the Official XBMC Remote for iOS users can now configure every single setting in XBMC without once opening the settings window in XBMC itself.

We look forward to the community taking advantage of this extended API and creating some extraordinary features in the future.

Yet More Features

- Update to FFMPEG v1.2 which we use for audio/video playback
- Stereo audio can now be up-mixed to 5.1 and sent through optical/SPDIF devices
- Various visual changes throughout the skin which should improve usability and logic.
- Improve the handling of subtitle downloading and selection
- Extend and improve the User-interface Engine which developers use to create a variety of skins to be used.
- Drop of support for Windows XP. Due to upgrades in the way we build XBMC, it is no longer possible to install or run XBMC on Windows XP. For current XP users we can suggest installing OpenELEC or XBMCbuntu as a free way to use XBMC 13 as a pure media centre.
- When initiating a library cleaning, XBMC will send a wake-on-lan request to any sleeping servers first, before cleaning the library, to ensure that content isn't unnecessarily cleaned
- Numerous PVR fixes and updates with additional new features updated on a per-platform basis. For more info, check out our PVR wiki page
- Copy/paste support on Windows, OSX, and iOS to match copy/paste support elsewhere
- Movie sets are now user editable
- Episodic bookmarks – If episodes are not broken into individual parts (e.g. Friends episode 1 and 2 are in the same video file), a bookmark can be set that will cause launching episode 2 from the UI to go directly to the bookmark in the video file

Not all skins from Frodo are guaranteed to work on Gotham. The following is a list of skins that have been checked for 13.0 compatibility and are currently in the XBMC skin repo.

Official XBMC Remote for iOS



We are also pleased to announce v1.5 of the Official XBMC Remote app for iOS. In addition to all past features, v1.5 now supports controlling LiveTV, along with access to the EPG, PVR recordings, and PVR timers. Users can now also change and update all XBMC settings from directly within the remote app by hitting the gears button on the Remote Control tab and selecting "...more." The fixes
The list of fixes is too vast to even being listing here. Some improvements and fixes came in with the features mentioned above and some came in separately. For all this we want to thank our passionate group of Team XBMC developers and the hundreds of third-party developers who contributed to XBMC with patches and improvements. After upgrade
After you have updated from Frodo or any earlier alpha or beta it may be beneficial to force refresh the XBMC.org repository. This will ensure the most recent repository list is loaded and needed updates become available. Here's a quick how-to from our wiki: Force refresh

Important notice
Backup your data Before upgrading we would recommend you create a backup of your current userdata folder which contains all your current settings and database files. In the unlikely case that something went wrong during your upgrade, a backup will ensure that you are still able to go back to the previous state. Where the userdata folder is located on your system can be found on our userdata wiki page. Do note that when first upgrading from Frodo 12.x it may take some time until you see the familiar homescreen as several internal upgrades need to be performed.

Add-ons As mentioned in previous blog posts, due to changes related to our add-on system and skin improvement, certain plugins, scripts and skins may become incompatible when upgrading from Frodo to Gotham. Sadly this is part of the continuing process of development and improvement. We hope the impact of these changes will be limited but we feel a warning would be beneficial. If there are any addons you particularly depend on, we advise that you visit the forum thread of that addon to see if the author has ensured support in XBMC 13.

Installing on OSX As XBMC is an unsigned application on OSX, you may need to go through a slightly different process to start it the first time. After you have copied XBMC to the Applications folder, you will need to "right click" or "two finger click" XBMC from within the Applications folder and select "Open" and then accept the warning. You should only need to do this the first time you run XBMC.

Code base Since we have branched the XBMC core code for Gotham off from our main development master branch on Github it is important that you also build from the correct Github branch: http://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/tree/Gotham

Gisteren geïnstalleerd en tot nu toe nog geen problemen ontdekt.
Ik weet niet of het met de nieuwe XBMC te maken heeft maar internet streams komen veel vloeiender door sinds de update. Voor zover ik weet is er aan min internet connectie niets veranderd en qua hardware is ook nog alles gelijk.
Straks eens SD content proberen te bekijken. Eens zien of dat ook beter is.

Na toch wat meer gebruik van XBMC 13 moet ik zeggen dat het op sommige vlakken een beetje tegenvalt.
De zaken die beter hadden moeten zijn werken bij mij niet echt, of ik merk er niks van.
De responsiviteit loopt lang niet zo vlot als bij XBMC 12. Ik gebruik een wireless keyboard (Logitech K400) en die werkt onder andere Windows applicaties prima. Maar XBMC detecteert lang niet alle toetsaanslagen. En dat deed ie onder XBMC 12 wel. Zeer vervelend!

Ook worden youtube video's (uit de Hardware.info add-on bijvoorbeeld) niet als bekeken aangeduid. Welja, dat doet ie wel, maar hj vergeet het ook weer van zodra ik een ander filmpje speel. Hij onthoudt dus enkel de laatste die ik bekeken heb en enkel zolang ik de add-on niet verlaat.
Dat lijkt me ook niet de bedoeling.

Ik zie geen verschil in de kwaliteit van de weergave van SD content.

Positief is wel de nieuwe methode om subtitles te downloaden. Eens het goed is ingesteld werkt het echt goed.
Ook de mogelijkheid om de level van expertise in te stellen bij je settings is handig.

Iemand een idee of de problemen met mijn keyboard op te lossen zijn en hoe ik die "episodes" van youtube content blijvend als " bekeken" kan aanduiden?
Die SD content, daar kan ik dan wel mee leven.

Die sd content wordt misschien al geupscaled door je tv/beamer en misschien merk je daarom niks
WAt betreft youtube addon, dat ligt niet aan xbmc zelf, maar aan de addon, vraag het bij de maker

Het keyboard probleem is eerder een keyboard probleem.
Het ligt er een beetje aan hou ik het richt. Bij XBMC gebruik wordt er veel minder echt getypt en houdt ik het anders dan wanneer ik b.v. een forum-post type. Ik heb het nu eens altijd hetzelfde gehouden en dan werkt het onder XBMC ook een stuk beter. Gewoon effe wennen denk ik.

De TV doet volgens mij geen upscaling. Het kan zijn dat de content gewoon te slecht is. Het zijn rips van DVD's, waar de kwaliteit ook al niet al te best van was. Ik zal de DVD zelf er eens bij moeten nemen om te vergelijken.
Maar ook bij SD content die niet recht van de DVD geript werd zie ik geen verbetering. Maar daar is de kwaliteit sowieso al beter van.

Maar die add-ons werkte prima onder XBMC 12.
Ik moet eens zien welke het juist allemaal zijn, maar ik denk dat het allemaal met Youtube content te maken heeft.
Andere gelijkaardige add-ons werken wel ... dat geeft toch te denken. 't Kan dus toch aan de add-on liggen dan ...

Library cleanen werkt bij mij niet goed in Gotham.
Alles lijkt te crahen, kan niet navigeren, maar bij een harde shutdown reboot die vanzelf weer en gaat 't gewoon verder en is inmiddels wel de progressie geupdate. Na een kwartier zit je dan op 5% ofzo. Ik moet dan echt hard shutdownen (power knop ingedrukt houden), om weer een werkbare XBMC te krijgen.

Toen las ik dat SMB shares traag zijn, wat ik had ingesteld omdat ik NFS niet aan de praat kreeg op DSM5.
Inmiddels NFS aan de praat gekregen, maar dan is het nog exact hetzelfde.

Iemand anders dit probleem ook?
Ik roep 't commando dan aan vanuit Yatse (Android phone) of Officiele xbmc remote app op iPad. "Clean library".

Kent er iemand een goeie addon die vooral goed is voor het rechtstreeks streamen van kleine tekenfilms, liefst met nl audio?
