Nog geen bericht van Jeff en ik heb al eens eerder nul op rekest gekregen mbt passief.
Heeft wel mijn voorkeur.

WinISD geeft bij 105 L box als optimum 81 x 52 x 33 cm (hbd).

Is dit idd beter dan gelijke zijden ?

Die JL dozen zou ik dus nooit kopen.
Hele mooie praatjes over de beste berekening tov de spec,s vd JLunit,maar de tuning ligt op 35 a 37 hz gemiddeld.
Dat is een beroerd hoge afval,poortsnelheid staat er niet bij dat moet je maar geloven dan.

Nee dit lijkt meer op de kisten op de site van JL voor de auto,waar ik de tuning van 30 ook veel te hoog vind.

Nooit voor HT gebruik toepassen raad ik zeer af.
Ik ken een prutser die bouwde zelf ook zoiets van de JL site,dat klinkt voor geen meter.
En de poort hoor je gewoon in en uit ademen  ;)

Domme prutser was dat,echt niet normaal meer.......

25 mm MDF maakt 104.8 L.

LMS -R15 is ook kandidaat.
Deze speelt schijnbaar boven 60 Hz niet echt meer mee.
Is voor het lage werk bedoeld en zou wat kleiner te bouwen en dus makkelijker te plaatsen zijn. :thumbs-up:

Of poortoutput van the caps in nearfield meten, en de respons met HPF en LPF daarop afstemmen, met wat EQ om te dip weg te werken.. dan ben je ineens van mogelijke faseproblemen ook vanaf.

Een passieve Cap S gaat niet door en de weg naar DIY ligt dus open.

(1)  2 maal LMS-R15 geeft een hoge/brede sub  (95 x 45 x 40) Qtc 0.76 ,bij wanddikte 25 mm 132 L excl bracing.
(2)  1 LMS5400 ultra , lager profiel, ( 55 x 55 x 45 ) Qtc 0.60, bij wanddikte 25 mm 105 L excl bracing.

De eerste zal meer midbass geven en onderin meer EQ en dus amp power vergen.
De tweede onderin krachtiger en een overall smoother respons.

Gezien mijn doel , met name 30-45 Hz respons,hoge output ,lijkt 2 mij derhalve beste keus. :music:
Bovendien zal een lager profiel minder opvallen en kan de amp ,gezien de breedte, makkelijk op de sub.

Klopt, maar passief schat ik al zo'n € 2200 shipped & tax.
Dan kan ik net zo goed een Cap S kiezen.
Mocht die interne amp dan ooit raar gaan doen kan ie weer passief verder.
En de Funk, zie ik nu, is 55 diep.

Krijg er nu ook wel zin in. :)

Sowieso, met de LMS 5400 ultra kan je niet verkeerd gaan.. Je mag toch wel stellen dat het de beste 18" subwoofer driver is voor HT gebruik.

Er staat hier nu een SVS PC13 Ultra die prima integreert.
De dip 30-40 is er nog maar heb onderin , rond 20 veel meer output en 45- 90 ziet er zeer strak uit.
Ben dus tevreden en de sub staat netjes , niet in de weg.

Zelfbouw laat ik niet varen , maar wordt lange baan ( al kan dat bij mij ook plots kort blijken) ::)
