10 bits / kleur bluray standaard ?

Ik zie meer en meer discussies over 10 bits / kleur encodes vanaf Bluray zoals in de Dune topic.

Als ik me goed herinner is de bluray standaard beperkt tot 8 bits / kleur, met banding als gevolg.

Blijkbaar is er iets gewijzigd, want er is blijkbaar 10 bits / kleur bronmateriaal en dus encodes naar mkv e.d.

Kan er iemand me op de standaarden wijzen waar dit officieel door de bluray standaard is erkend ?

maar vindt niet direct de officiële spec van de bluray standaard waar dit erkend is, en op andere fora wordt het dan weer ontkend:

Als ik me goed herinner is de bluray standaard beperkt tot 8 bits / kleur, met banding als gevolg.

Zoals ik in de andere thread ook aangaf is het niet 8 bits per 'kleur'.
Op de disk staat in YCbCr formaat de informatie.
Aangenomen dat het in 4:4:4 is opgeslagen (Weet niet zeker of dat altijd zo is of dat er ook 4:2:2 op BD schijven staat).
In ieder geval is er dus 8 bits voor Y, en 16 bits voor de kleurinfo CbCr (in het geval van 4:4:4) per pixel.

Ik geloof niet dat eventuele banding komt door de beperkte kleurdiepte, maar eerder door bewerkingen op het signaal die de werkelijke kleur/bit diepte verder beperken.

Ik vind het jammer dat niet alle bluray standaarden zijn in te zien door de consument. Deze documentatie is alleen beschikbaar voor 'leden'/fabrikanten die duizenden euro's moeten betalen om over de documentatie te kunnen beschikken.

maar dat is voornamelijk gebabbel over de optische drager en verwijzingen naar verdere specs die niet publiek zijn.
