H3DII versie 2.3 released

HD-Aux BETA TEST Version 2.3 has been released.

Version 2.3 improves upon Version 2.2a and Version 2.2c. While primarily for HD-Aux users, this release also works on HOLO3D-I and HOLO3D-II without HD-Aux.

Performance Improvements
More responsive On-Screen-Display. There is no longer any On-Screen Display lagging when changing inputs, formats, resolutions, passthrough, or other HD-Aux options. You can now change HDTV formats quickly. This is because the board updates are now being done in the background (multithreaded). Although the video will still take the same amount of time to initialize, the On-Screen-Display is now instantaneous. The freeze at startup is gone as well. (Note: This can cause some interesting menu effects at startup - if you try to bring up the OSD immediately right after you start up HOLO3D, some of the HD-Aux menu items are missing until a few seconds later after when the HD-Aux finishes initializing in the background)

HD-Aux Univeral Transcoder - Component Input Works
With the new Input Color Space option via the `Input` Menu, you can do either VGA/Component HDTV on either VGA/Component Display now in any of the following combinations:
VGA/RGB -> VGA/RGB
VGA/RGB -> Component
Component -> VGA/RGB
Component -> Component

Fix for White Sparkles (When HD-Aux Removed or Disabled)
The white sparkles seen by HOLO3DGRAPH-II users without HD-Aux (or HD-Aux disabled) are confirmed fixed with the newest 2003-10-17 drivers included.

Reset Board Without Rebooting
There is now the option to do a cold reset of the HOLO3DGRAPH I/II PCI board without needing to reboot the computer. This is useful if the video becomes messed up after making many adjustments. You can do this operation by going to Setup Menu Bar -> Options -> Reset Board

More HD-Aux Input Selection Added
There are now extra HD-Aux Input selection items added to the `Input` menu, and there is also an option to configure the HD-Aux bottom jack as an input or output in Setup Menu Bar -> Setup Input -> Bottom DVI-I Jack

Output Selection
You now have the option to select the output via Setup Menu Bar -> Setup Output -> Output

Sync Polarity Select
Selectable sync polarity within HOLO3D user interface. Many displays require a specific sync polarity. For example, some plasma displays may require a differnent sync polarity for 1:1 native pixel mapping.

Sync Type Select
You can select from Sync-On-Green (3BNC), Combined-Sync (4BNC), and Separate (5BNC)

Chroma Swap
There is now a Chroma Swap option in Advanced Menu Bar -> HD-Aux

Component Output Now Default
To reduce confusion by new users, the Output Color Space is now set to `Component` by default. This avoids the green video that new users may see on the Windows desktop at startup. If you have a VGA/RGB display connected to the HD-Aux output, you will need to modify this setting back to `VGA/RGB`

Added 1280x720p (Mode #2)
This second 720p mode is useful for digital DVI users who want to downconvert 1080i -> 720p with higher quality scaling instead of decimation.

Added 1920x1080p
You can now essentially line double HDTV to 1080p if you want. Or simply use 1080p for everything. (Line doubling is just via simple weave algorithm)

Modified 1400x1050p
Made some modifications to match JVC recommended timings. Preferred Polarity is unknown, so you may need to adjust Sync Polarity

Modified 1280x768p
Set default Horiz Sync Polarity to Negative, and the Vert Sync Polarity to Positive. This is what a Radeon outputs by default for 1280x768p, so hopefully this works better. If not, then try adjusting the Polarity setting.

HD-Aux Brightness/Contrast/Saturation Range Back to 0 through 200
These are now back to a range of 0 through 200 in order to match the range of the Proc Amp inside VideoProc. That means the adjustment values are now the same in both VideoProc and the HOLO3D software.

Fixed HD-Aux Detection
On systems without HD-Aux, sometimes HOLO3D would incorrectly enable HD-Aux features by default. This has been fixed. To re-enable HD-Aux (RGBHV) features on systems without HD-Aux, use Setup Menu -> Setup Input -> Add-On HD-Aux -> Enabled

Fixed Format Selection
Setting the input resolution via `Format` is now properly memorized per input.

Fixed Refresh Rate Override for Interlaced Modes
You can now properly override the refresh rate for interlaced modes.

`Setup Timings` Menu renamed to `Setup Output`
The `Setup Timings` menu has been renamed to `Setup Output` for consistency with other menu options.

Context Help Text added to Advanced Menu Bar -> HD-Aux
The menu items in Advanced Menu Bar -> HD-Aux has context sensitive help text added to it, including mentioning that to adjust the output horizontal sync offset, it is necessary to adjust the Fli2300 Horiz Positon by exactly the opposite amount you adjust the Fli2300 Horiz Sync Offset.

New Drivers
New 2003-10-17 drivers are included in the download. They are required for HD-Aux users to take the most advantage of Version 2.3.

And all the features of Version 2.2a and Version 2.2c.

IMPORTANT: New 2003-10-17 Drivers Included - Required for all HOLO3D-II users.
Please install them before running Version HOLO3D 2.3 with HD-Aux!

Met toch wel het meest opvallende dus TOCH 1080P van 1080i.
Het is dan wel een simpele weave maar meer is in principe niet nodig voor het HD signaal.
In 95% van de gevallen zal dit het gewenste resultaat geven.....

Kan ik inkomen dat voor film sourced materiaal weave wellicht voldoende is. Wordt de Faroudja chip eigenlijk nog gebruikt bij deze convertie ? Wat met 1080@60i ?

Weave zal in het grootste gedeelte van film materiaal werken, maar de implementatie is natuurlijk vrij, aangezien Mark Reyhon bij Immersive werkt kan ik me indenken dat er ook wel een bob versie bij komt, aangezien hij die routines zo uit zijn mooi schud.
De faroudja wordt gebruikt voor ALLE enhancements BEHALVE dus deïnterlacing.

Now we are talking !
Ben er eidelijk geslaagd om de desktop aan de praat te krijgen in de H3D GUI. Als hij nu nog automatisch kunnen overschakelen van desktop naar beeld en terug (in feite is het natuurlijk omgekeerd) dan was ie weer toppie !
Als ik nu ook nog eens de desktop mooi binnen het beeld zou kunnen krijgen en de kleuren in orde. Jaco misschien ?

Heb je al de nieuwe scoped settings voor saturatie en hue ?

Piet, welke resolutie gebruik je voor je desktop ?
Je kunt met videoproc wel wat schuiven met je input beeld, en dan zou het dus goed moeten zijn.
Ik wil wel een poging wagen, mits de resolution niet te extreem is (heb nu enkel de standaard windows resoluties tot beschikking)

De settings zijn gescoped, ik gebruik alleen voor mijn DVD component een saturation van 27.8 in de GUI settings.
