Het kan vreemd lopen.
Gisteren vroeg ik me nog af: "Vreemd dat Def Leppard nog geen DVD's heeft".

Def Leppard was er als eerste bij om op LD uit te komen, maar nu is het dan toch zover, en HOEVER  .

Dit is een leuke "comming-out" niets geen teasers, en lang wachten op de volgende DVD. Nee, meteen het beste en alles eruit.

Def Leppard's First-Ever DVDs Bring Together the Band's Four Best-Selling Collections of Music Videos and Live Performances
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- All four of metal giant Def Leppard's home videos will be released in two special first-time-on-DVD packages with bonus material. ``Historia'' and ``In The Round In Your Face,'' each multiplatinum upon their original releases on VHS, have been combined on one DVD; the gold ``Visualize'' plus ``Video Archive'' create a second epic DVD collection. Each package will be issued by Mercury/UME on December 4, 2001.

``Historia/In The Round In Your Face'' includes 5 bonus videos, ``Slang,'' ``Work It Out,'' ``All I Want Is Everything,'' ``Goodbye,'' and ``Promises.'' Both ``Historia/In The Round In Your Face'' and ``Visualize/Video Archive'' include exclusive interviews, uniquely designed full motion menu screens, subtitles (English, Brazilian, Portuguese, Latin American Spanish) and a complete discography.

``Historia'' (1988 ) brings together all of the videos made between 1980 and 1988 -- 18 videos of 16 different songs spanning all of the group's albums to that date. It's matched with ``In The Round In Your Face'' (1989), the Hysteria World Tour concert video filmed by Wayne Isham at a 1988 two-day Denver concert plus footage from a trio of Atlanta shows.

The ``Historia'' portion ranges from an obscure recording of ``Hello America'' from the band's debut album through rare TV performances to the videos for the nine times platinum Pyromania and 12 times platinum blockbuster ``Hysteria'' (thus the title ``Historia''). From the latter are the clips for the hits ``Animal,'' ``Hysteria,'' ``Love Bites,'' ``Pour Some Sugar On Me'' (the U.K. and live U.S. versions) and a live ``Armageddon It'' (the latter two filmed at that same Denver concert). Def Leppard's classic video for its first major hit, ``Bringin' On The Heartbreak,'' is also shown in two versions (one with original guitarist Pete Willis, one current guitarist Phil Collen). The bonus videos added to the ``In The Round In Your Face'' section are for ``Slang,'' ``Work It Out,'' ``All I Want Is Everything,'' ``Goodbye'' and ``Promises.''

``Visualize'' (1993) contains all of the videos made between 1989 and 1993, including for the triple platinum album Adrenalize, with additional interview footage, TV appearances and live tracks. It's teamed with ``Video Archive'' (1995), a compendium of eight live tracks from a hometown Sheffield, England 1993 concert; five videos from 1993 through 1995 (including the epic eight-minute version of ``When Love & Hate Collide''), and six live tracks from a 1995 Sheffield concert during which Def Leppard offered an acoustic performance.

``Historia/In The Round In Your Face'' and ``Visualize/Video Archive'' show why Def Leppard has sold well over 30 million albums in the U.S. alone, with seven albums certified platinum, and forever etched its name in the history of rock.

Er staan nu 4 dvd,s van def leppard te koop (via el cheapo opgezocht)echter nergens staat bij of het dts of dolby d is en wat de beeldverhouding is.
Laatste tijd word er steeds spaarzamer met dit soort info omgegaan op de bekende sites vind ik.
Ook in australie word de info steeds slechter bijgehouden.
Even afwachten dus wat er precies op de dvd,s staat voordat ik ze aanschaf.
Als ze net zo veel aandacht aan het geluid besteden als indertijd dat ze historia? uitbrachten beloofd dat veel goeds.Ze hebben toen meer als een jaar in de studio gezeten als ik het goed heb.

Als ik Def Leppard een beetje ken, dan zijn in voor een verassing. Die band besteed inderdaad zorgzaam veel tijd aan hun mixen.

Ik heb toen Hysteria net uit kwam in Wisseloord gesproken met mensen die meegewerkt hadden aan de opnames, en het schijnt dat echt ALLES apart is opgenomen met verschrikkelijk veel zorg en detail.

Ze hadden 100x sneller klaar geweest als ze gewoon als band alles hadden opgenomen. Persoonlijk vindt ik Hysteria dan ook op het randje hangen van TE geproduceerd.

Ook live is trouwens alles bij hun PERFECT geregeld. Het enige concert waar ik mijn oordopjes gewoon uit kon doen. Heb toen Rick Savage geïnterviewd en met de rest van de band gesproken, en inderdaad ..... geluid en kwaliteit zijn voor hun nummer 1.

Ik kijk er dus echt naar uit, en zal ze blind kopen.
