Post by: J.A.F._Doorhof on February 26, 2002, 16:57:26

QuoteSilverline & Sanctuary Records To Release 140 DVD-Audio Titles Starting In April - 2/26/2002
Silverline Records has entered into a long-term licensing deal with Sanctuary Records to release DVD-Audio titles, it was announced by John Trickett, chairman of the 5.1 Entertainment Group and Merck Mercuriadis, CEO of The Sanctuary Group Inc., the U.S. arm of London-based international media company The Sanctuary Group plc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Silverline Records has obtained exclusive license rights for all six-channel formats for 140 unique albums of Sanctuary repertoire including past and future releases.

Beginning in April 2002, Silverline Records will release multiple DVD-Audio titles per month by artists such as: Bob Marley, Styx, The Kinks, Joey Ramone, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Widespread Panic, Sex Pistols and Megadeth to name a few.

Silverline was the first label to produce and release a DVD-Audio title, the Grammy-nominated "Swinging For The Fences" by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. Silverline Records has maintained a leadership role in the development, production and marketing of DVD-Audio with 53 DVD-Audio titles released to date.

John Trickett said, "I am extremely pleased to announce our relationship with Sanctuary. Their catalog is deep and has a wide range of musical genres with albums from seminal artists. The release of such a large number of DVD Audio titles will very much benefit the format and we are excited to be releasing them."

Merck Mercuriadis said, "DVD-Audio is an exciting medium and 5.1 Entertainment are both the market leaders and innovators driving the growth of the format. I look forward to our catalogue and artists benefiting from their expertise."

QuoteIn addition to the Dolby Digital (DVD-V) and MLP (DVD-A) streams, the latter a healthy and flawless 24/96 as we have come to expect from Silverline

Rock on!
