TI smaller 4K DMD pushed aside/back again? TI adopts Quad Pixel Drive technology

This DMD and 'Quad Pixel Drive' control technology is old news, the only new thing is the single DMD implementation, as the 3DMD implementation is about to start shipping officially, and I am sure key customers have had access to an evaluation unit for some time. Panasonic showed this in Februari at ISE. And again at Infocomm, and other tradeshows, Lang AG a very large value added/master distributor even had one back in Februari in its private room on its stand at ISE. Pitted against the NEC 4K, Patrick from Grobi.TV did a video on it, that is on youtube.

Dus ±4MP (2560 x 1600) gewobbeld? Dat is beter dan de 1080p van de concurrentie zeker? En het zou volgend jaar al commercieel klaar zijn?

Inderdaad vier posities. De preciese pixelcount is nog onbekend, want dit zijn 0.7"chips. Naar verluid op basis van het Tilt&Roll process waarmee ze ook de Pico projector DMDs maken, tilt angle van de spiegeltjes zou flink vergroot zijn naar 17 graden, 12 graden is standaard. Ik had in mijn achterhoofd dat Panasonic ook 0.7" DMDs gebruikt, maar die gebruikt 0.9" DMDs, die projector levert dan ook 5120x3200 pixels. Ook heeft Panasonic een original processing design chip. Geen idee of dat van TI afkomt, zoals eigenlijk alle DLP aanstuurtechniek. Lijnen steken beter of dan op de JVC die naast de TI demonstrator stond lees/hoor ik.
