Middels DVDaudioextractor eerst wat DVD-A ' s geript in 6 ch FLAC.
Deze staan nu even op de laptop.
Oppo fungeert als renderer .Dan bitstream uit naar de Marantz via HDMI en die doet de decoding.

De Oppo BDP-103 blijft lastig te bedienen via een app, of het nu iOS of Android is.
Eenmaal gaande is de kwaliteit daarentegen subliem. :blink:
Je merkt hoe vervormingsarm de JTRs wel niet zijn en ik heb dan ook voor het laag een wat steviger housecurve ingesteld, zo strak is het. 8)

Wel blijf ik vinden dat sommige mixen nergens op slaan, rare pans en posities.

Welke muziek betreft het?
En ik ben toch wel erg benieuwd naar de JTRs.  8)

Dit lijkt me wel de meest voor de hand liggende muziek (uit dit rijtje) voor 6ch audio.
De andere muziek vind ik mooi, vooral Steely Dan. Maar dat lijkt me in stereo toch fijner. Zeker wanneer ze vreemde pans en positionering toepassen in de mix. Dat ouderwetse rampestamp housemuziek lijkt me wel grappig in 6ch. Of die muziek van Jean Michel Jarre is ook wel grappig voor 6ch.

Ik kom graag een keer M+G'en.  O0

De Steely Dans geven een heel fraai ruimtelijk geluidsveld zonder rare positie van instrumenten of pans.
Het klinkt ook enorm vloeiend en rustig. :music:

Blue man group is o zo jammer, want het leent zich er met name voor.
Wat ook opvalt bij deze is dat alles klein klinkt. Toch wel forse "instrumenten" die klinken als miniatuurtjes.  :hmmm:

De JTRs staan nu bijna één jaar te spelen en blijven boeien ,verbazen en ontroeren.

Omdat ik in deze tijd van het jaar wel een stuk minder speel- en kijktijd klok is het een fijn vooruitzicht om eea weer in te halen in de donkere dagen. :xmas:

De eerste berichten zijn zeer positief en mocht de processing van andere formats naar een Atmos
opstelling ook goed uitpakken is het plan om hier nog wat meer JTRs te plaatsen. :thumbs-up:

Jeff heeft nog geen specifiek product voor de overhead channels.
Uit de huidige lijn zouden Slanted 8' s derhalve mogelijk het best hier passen.
Ik zal hem eens polsen al heeft ie iha weinig aansporing nodig om een passende
oplossing te ontwikkelen. :)

It's important to remember the "why" driving this recommendation. This stems from assumed similar acoustics vs a changing room size as would be likely in either commercial theaters or mixing rooms. This is a huge factor in why those with heavily treated, dedicated theaters find higher main volume levels more comfortable than those in a typical, untreated living room.

In short our hearing system senses loudness based on sound power, not just intensity. For those reading along, this means subjective loudness relates to intensity*time, not just peak SPL. The more reflections can keep bouncing around without dissipating, the longer any burst of sound will exist in the room, and will sound louder. Go slam a book shut in your bathroom/shower vs standing outside. The sound from the book closing didn't change, but in the bathroom the sound kept bouncing around at nearly the level it started at making it seem MUCH louder.

While such reflections do make the time averaged SPL (like the pink noise test tones) measure louder, most deteriorate the clarity, intelligibility and overall quality. Since we don't calibrate based on the direct sound only, but rather on direct and all reflected energy, this means that in a reflective room the "calibrated" playback will actually have less peak SPL but have much more sustained energy due to reflections.

Aangezien ik een groot gedeelte van mijn muziekcollectie vanaf de laptop stream en daar de afgelopen tijd een hoop aan heb toegevoegd komt er nu een grotere SSD in.
500 Gb is voorlopig wel even genoeg.

Vanavond Wreck it Ralph gekeken.
Prima Disney vertier al doet het verhaal sterk aan Toy Story denken.
Het eerste half uur even de teugels wat gevierd vwb het volume.
Een 5 sterren geluidstrack over de JTRs aan nog ruim onder reference levels ( -10 dB, meestal zit ik op - 20 bij dit soort content) blijft echt een belevenis.
Zo dynamisch, precies , meeslepend en genietbaar.

Nog mooie concert tips op dat gebied? Vind dat zelf vaak tegen vallen. Draai die meestal in stereo.
