Ik heb van Wadia te horen gekregen dat de opvolger van de 170i, de 171i (duh ) als het goed is op CES2010 wordt voorgesteld. Echte specs wilden ze nog niet geven tot na de officiele aankondiging.

Waarschijnlijk zal de 171i in maart ergens verkrijgbaar zijn.

Ben benieuwd wanneer die losse dac (121?) nou eindelijk uitkomt; stond eerst op maart 2009 las ik toen ergens, maar dat is 'm duidelijk niet geworden.

Laatste Wadia nieuws van de CES 2011:

Wadia's new 171iTransport digital iPod dock ($599) is now also compatible with Apple's iPad. Other changes include an improved circuit board, new clock chip, higher grade connectors, and a better internal power supply. The remote control has also been redesigned for better ease of use.

We listened to the 171iTransport connected to an iPad in a system with Wadia's 151PowerDac mini ($1195), Wadia's 121 Decoding Computer (around $1500), a pretty little pair of Dynaudio's outstanding Excite X12 loudspeakers (a steal at $1200/pair), and Argentum Acoustics cables, and the sound was sweet and involving.

The Wadia 171iTransport will be shipping to dealers this week.

Nog een jaartje wachten en Wadia komt met een digital dock waar je je 50" plasma insteekt om het geluid digitaal naar je receiver te transporteren.

Is er een groot verschil of je een iphone aan je installatie hangt met of zonder wadia?

Op afgelopen CES introduceerde Wadia een heel nieuw product: de Intuition 01. ADC + DAC + versterker in een behuizing. Beetje a la Devialet.

Mooi ook om te zien hoe hun nieuwe eigenaar Fine Sounds synergie weet te halen uit het laten samenwerken van verschillende merken (in dit geval Wadia en Sonus Faber). Het ziet er fraai uit. Ik ben benieuwd hoe het klinkt.
